Song of The Moment: Daryl Hall and John Oates – “Kiss on My List” The first exposure I remember having to Daryl Hall and John Oates was through “Kiss on My List” and “Private Eyes” being used for D-TV, a music video television series that began airing on the Disney Channel in the mid-1980’s as filler material. These music videos combined footage from various Disney productions. I was nine years old at the time when the…

Song Review: Sun Soo Girl – “Isshou Nakako” In April 2026, Japanese rock band Sun Soo Girl released the music video for “Isshou Nakako,” which translates to “A friend for life.” The song is being used as the opening theme for the Spring 2026 anime, Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku? I have to be upfront in this review and admit that my only familiarity with this anime comes from reading a synopsis for the series.

Take That - You're A Superstar (Lyric Video) YouTube video by Take That

Take That recently released "You're A Superstar."

This upbeat and uplifting song has a catchy arrangement that perfectly complements the song's message about believing in another person. The vocals do a great job of capturing the theme and selling it.

Check it out and see what you think.

Album Review: Wormstew – “Last Days of Loma” Wormstew is an indie pop-folk trio based out of Los Angeles and features singer/songwriter Mike Schnee, bassist/vocalist Teresa Cowles, and drummer/producer Michael Simmons. Alok & Khalid - Dive Into Me (Official Lyric Video)
Alok & Khalid - Dive Into Me (Official Lyric Video) YouTube video by Alok

Alok has released "Dive Into Me," a collaboration with Khalid.

The song samples the synth melody from Fatima Yamaha's 2004 track, "What's A Girl to Do." I love the lighter vibe the arrangement has, which makes it a perfect contender for a summer dance hit.

Check it out and see what you think.

Song Review: ILLENIUM, David Guetta, and Dustin Lynch – “Die Living” In March 2026, ILLENIUM released “Die Living,” a collaboration with David Guetta and country singer Dustin Lynch. However, this is a stand-alone single as it’s not a song from ILLENIUM’s recent album, ODYSSEY. Musically, “Die Living” has a more traditional EDM arrangement when compared with some of ILLENIUM’s material that’s been released over the past year or so. However, between the song’s theme and Dustin Lynch’s vocal performance, I think this track really needs the more traditional arrangement for it to work.

Song Review: B’z – “Heaven Knows” In April 2026, Japanese rock duo B’z released “Heaven Knows,” which is being used as the 61st opening theme for the Detective Conan anime series. While the song made its first appearance in the anime in January 2026, it wasn’t available as a digital single until a few months later. I watch the simulcast for the Detective Conan anime, so I’ve been hearing the TV Size (aka edited version) of “Heaven Knows” for about three months now.

Who's Leaving Who (JNR Remix)
Who's Leaving Who (JNR Remix) YouTube video by Hazell Dean - Topic

The JNR Remix was recently released for Hazell Dean's 80's hit, "Who's Leaving Who."

The mix does a great job of giving the song a modern feel, but it still retains the 80's spirit from the original recording. Hopefully dance radio will give this one a chance.

Check it out and see what you think.

Compilation Album Review: NOW: Yearbook Vault ’82 NOW: Yearbook Vault ’82 appears to be a continuation for NOW: Yearbook 1982 and NOW: Yearbook 1982 Extra. According to the liner notes, the release includes overlooked and under-appreciated tracks, with many of them making their first appearance on any NOW title. In this four-disc set, the fourth disc is dedicated to songs that were hits in the United States but had less of an impact on the U.K.
