Osprey were once in danger of disappearing but conservation efforts brought them back. Thank goodness, just look at these charmers

A stack of pink books that say OBSTETRIX * Naomi Kritzer on the spine.
My birthday is this week! (I'm turning 53.) And to celebrate, I'd like to do another fundraiser so how about I give away another pre-release copy of OBSTETRIX?

I'm glad you have someone with superpowers on your side. Very best wishes to you.
I'm making one last push to let people know about this online talk -- sponsored by the British Library in conjunction with their current exhibition on fairy tales. The live stream starts at 7:30 tonight, but if you buy a ticket *before* the event you can watch it any time over the next 7 days.
This is going to make the next month even harder. So if you want to do something to help, now is a great time to support my Patreon.
If you folks like sterling and handmade goods and are not already following my twelve wonderful jewelry goblins while we fling shiny stuff into the universe, I would implore that you do so. This is our main revenue stream, and our community is great!

Moth faces are so cute. Here’s a moth in the genus Trosia

There are some important things to remember in terms of Awards-shortlist day etiquette. A short thread.
Even folks I really like and respect make some blunders on this stuff.
1) Allow people to enjoy the shortlist. Avoid dismissing the finalists (whomever they are) for at least a month.

A very tiny bright orange baby salamander. It is extraordinarily cute, lying happily on moss.
We saw our first little red eft of the year today. If you see one please do not pick it up! Their skin is highly porous and the salt, oils, lotion, sunblock, bug spray, etc. from your hands can make them sick. Use a leaf to move them if they must be relocated for their safety. ❤️

Lol, that's great.
Some of mine are probably under radiators or similar places. They're very sturdy and were used as cat toys from time to time.
I did stop reading a Victorian romance when the narrator remarked, "Now, I'm no dumb bunny."
That's really too bad. I still have elephants and an otter.
I went through so much Red Rose in graduate school. Do they still put a little china animal in each box?
