Thank you to all who joined our town hall! Enjoyed the discussion on energy, housing, healthcare, data centers paying their fair share & more. Sign up for my newsletter on my website for updates on GA matters. Lastly, remember to defend our democracy & vote YES on April 21.
Tonight! Join us for a town hall with the Arlington Delegation. You may register with the link below but registration is not required.
After 3 years, my SB38 and @ebpforva.bsky.social’s HB93 are now law. These bills ensure firearms are transferred out of the household after a conviction of assault against a household member. With women 5x more likely to die in DV situations with a firearm, this law will save lives.
Proud that my SB37 and @atoosareaser.bsky.social’s HB1020 have been signed into law! These bills enable the statute of limitations to restart when corroborating evidence comes forward regarding child sexual assaults. Survivors deserve a pathway to seek justice and find healing.
Proud to be a co-patron on the Right to Contraception bill. Gratefully, the Governor made this bill law. Thankful to @ltgovhashmi.bsky.social Sen Carroll Foy & @delciaprice85.bsky.social for their leadership on this essential protection. Family planning gives us healthy children & healthy families.
Wishing all who celebrate a blessed Easter Sunday! May this season of renewal inspire hope, compassion, and a commitment to caring for one another.
My SB33 & Del. McQuinn’s HB195 have been signed into law! This gives schools more flexibility to use at-risk funds to hire school nurses. We know that healthy students = better learners. Proud to be part of a bipartisan package focused on student safety around VA.
Wishing all who celebrate Passover a meaningful and joyous holiday. May this season of reflection remind us of the enduring power of resilience and hope. Chag Sameach!

Enjoyed hanging out with friends to remind folks it’s important to stand up for our constitutional rights and the values that have made America the greatest experiment ever in self governance. That means No Kings! Remember to vote YES by April 21st.
This #WomensHistoryMonth, we honor changemakers like: the suffragettes, Katherine Johnson who broke race and gender barriers to guide Apollo 11, Lilly Ledbetter who ensured equal pay & Malala Yousafzai who fought for equal access to education. These women inspire us every day.
These bills will improve the lives of Virginians and make access to prescription drugs more affordable. I’m looking forward to working with Governor Spanberger as she reviews these legislative proposals.
4 more of my bills are headed to the Governor! They add protections for youth & Virginians with disabilities by retaining voting rights under guardianship, adding oversight for juvenile detention, supporting foster youth in DJJ, and expanding mental health care for minors.
SB33 has passed both chambers & is headed to the Governor’s desk! Allowing at-risk funding to support the physical & mental health of students, including hiring school nurses, ensures students have access to care during the school day. Healthy kids are better learners.
4 more of my bills are headed to the Governor’s desk! They bolster access to voting by updating the mail-in ballot deadline, protect reproductive & sexual health data, lower prescription costs through therapeutic interchange & expand access to medications for opioid use disorder.
Proud that this week 4 more of my bills are headed to the Governor’s desk. These bills bolster protections for vulnerable populations, including child sexual assault survivors, justice-involved youth, and those in nursing homes and hospitals.
Over 100,000 Virginians are expected to be priced out of their health insurance because of HR1. I was proud to stand with Protect Our Care & partners to outline the Virginia Democratic response, including a $200M investment in the Senate budget for healthcare subsidies.
My SB39 passed unanimously out of House subcommittee today, which directs the VA DOE to develop best practices for school-based technology that can identify students at risk of harming themselves or others. Early intervention saves lives & we have a responsibility to act.
I’m fighting to build workplaces to allow Virginians to make family-based decisions. No one should forfeit a doctor’s visit to keep a job (my SB199) & one should be able to take care of a sick family member (@jenniferboysko.com SB2). These are family values.

Proud that my first bill of 2026 has passed both chambers and now lands on @abigailspanberger.com’s desk. My SB38 & @ebpforva.bsky.social’s HB93 protect survivors of domestic violence by ensuring firearms are legally transferred and removed from the home.
Proud to vote to increase the minimum wage, which passed the Senate today. This is a financial stability bill for families. It will set the foundation for Virginians to earn a living wage.
I voted against a bill to allow a casino in Fairfax today. Unfortunately, it passed the Senate. The Fairfax Board determined that planning, infrastructure, safety, transportation, national security & other concerns outweigh the benefits — Fairfax has said no. This speaks volumes.
Delighted that my SB198, to protect Virginians w/ disabilities during police interviews, passed Courts today & rereferred to finance. This population is uniquely vulnerable during police encounters, so we must work toward preventing wrongful convictions & miscarriages of justice.
Honored to receive the Senior Living Champion award from the Virginia Assisted Living Assn.! Seniors deserve housing that supports their physical, mental & emotional health. Proud to sponsor a budget amendment to increase the Auxiliary Grant & support affordable senior housing.
Started week 4 of Session with my bill w/ Sen. Carroll Foy to ensure Virginia workers earn paid sick days. Democratic lawmakers reported the bill and re-referred it to Senate Finance. Virginians should not have to choose between their job and their health.
