Not strictly relevant to the article itself but this led me to learning that one of Cherfilus-McCormick's primary opponents is Luther Campbell of 2 Live Crew fame (infamy?)
We continue to live in the dumbest possible timeline.

Now wondering if that video of Kash whooping it up with the US Men's hockey team was AI. No way that guy is wasting a beer like that.
Not spiking the football until the polls close tomorrow but this certainly lends a fun dimension to the Virginia redistricting ballot initiative.
I'm not as down on Netflix's streaming model as most of my peers (in large part because they put their awards movies out in theaters in LA which is where I actually see them) but, honestly, how is this not out on 3000 screens as counterprogramming to MICHAEL this weekend?
I often think of David Ayer as “an even dumber Joe Carnahan” so this tracks.
Thankfully this will be on a Sunday early evening (should be wrapped by 11) but outside of festivals I rarely have the stamina for double (and triple) features anymore so this should be a decent test of my attention span.
The American Cinematheque programming Kieślowski's THREE COLORS as a triple-feature in May will undoubtedly wreck me me as I feel decrepit and simply sitting in the same seat for 6+ hours is now a herculean task. (but also, can't wait!)
I’ve received three long ass texts from his campaign just today! Where was this level of effort before Swalwell was unveiled as a sex pest?
Not only is Hope Davis relegated to a "Wife on the Phone" role in an Angel Studios film but she's playing the "Throat Goat?" For shame.
This dude is an absolute bozo (pity as I enjoy his acting) but this is an especially bad argument.
People saw what happened after the Fox/Disney merger (less films being produced) & they didn't like it. It's why they're trying to stop another merger now. Get it?
Stop taking chairs to the head.
Trump asking whether someone else has “no sense of shame” is legitimately his funniest troll yet.
So we’re just brushing past this country-fried fuck (and paid Fox News contributor) calling the presidential library for the first black president the “eggplant library,” huh?
Hasn't Los Angeles suffered enough lately?
They did last year.
Curious that this sort of forward thinking never applies to climate change (or, if you’re a deficit hawk, the national debt).
This, only it's FACES OF DEATH. Can't imagine things get more cheerful when the film ends and I turn on my phone.
The problem with all of these Oscar bloggers who have faceplanted into career ruin and madness is none of them have anyone in their lives who loves them enough to get them in front of a therapist.
I for one am shocked that the crowd that's anti-union, anti-regulation, anti-"elites," and gives quotes that read like Pete Hegseth cosplay would also be running an unsafe film set.

You put some respect on the name of the man who made the 4th best EVIL DEAD film!
What are the Kalshi odds of him calling it “career ending” or the “worst film ever made” (for probably the fifth time this year)?
I would say this is very different from DREAM SCENARIO but thematically they are kindred spirits.
I myself just filed my review & avoided giving away the revelation. It's doable because the "transgression" itself is kind of irrelevant to the shape of the film which is really about how other characters make it about themselves (also it negates all the build up if you know what she confesses).
I'm not getting your meaning in this instance, sorry.
There are people who were convinced this dude was “cancelled” and really the total extent of his shunning was he no longer receives glowing write-ups in the NY Times Sunday arts section that compare him to Bergman and Eugene O’Neill.
Who do we think gets booked on "Dancing with the Stars" first? Noem or Bondi?
Maybe it's Pam on "Dancing" and Kristi does "The Masked Singer" but in a dog costume. Ya know, to wink to the audience that she's cool with the memes.
Another televised Trump speech that doesn’t end with an R. Budd Dwyer impersonation. This guy’s always disappointing me.
It’s the funny the extent to which the AI prompt was “make the Reagan Library only a skyscraper but also 400% tackier.”
Quite the self-own from Shedeur.
Was listening to a movie podcast this morning where one of the cohosts unironically referred to 8 1/2 as Fellini's "twentieth film."
Reopen the schools, etc.
“Wouldn’t STAR TREK be better if it didn’t have all the politics?” does a nice job of explaining how you end up with something like PHM.
