Folks, can you not do April Fools' Day jokes on politics, pretty please?

It's already seriously hard to tell parody from delusional politics and politicians, and often parody makes more sense.

Just do them on non-politics subjects and in return I won't wish you a painful boil on the backside.

If I’m honest, Claude Cowork has met every single one of my needs, and then some. I’ve borrowed back ideas from openclaw to extend how I use it

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

This is a fantastic way of putting it.

I can’t help but think of what the clinical equivalent of this is, and then explore any negative reactions I am having. There are many sacred cows out there that may be holding back better patient care

Is anyone *not* strict by the parallels between 2019 Watchmen adaptation (HBO) and current situation with masked ICE officers in US?

It was literature prize though, right? (Not challenging that Trump is absurd recipient of a regift here tho)

Not at all shabby. Maybe we can resurrect the old “code warrior” style games where people vibecode robots to battle one another in an online arena

Watching Princess Bride because:
1) rob Reiner was a genius
2) Donald Trump is an arsehole

Something I see a lot too, and partly why I encourage exploration of AI in non-work spaces first to reduce the “risk” which chills experimentation and learning. Hobbies always fertile ground, given higher user expertise and less harm when things go awry

Accommodation Nation America’s colleges have an extra-time-on-tests problem.

One statistic that really surprised me is how sharply disability registration has risen at elite universities.

At Brown and Harvard, more than 20% of undergraduates are registered as disabled. At Amherst, it’s 34%, and at Stanford, it's 38%.

Given rising recognition of neurodiversity and sequelae of pandemic, not completely surprising. Also highlights inadequacy of testing methodologies, which are needing update given impact of AI too

I benefit from free tuition in Scotland and a very small student loan that I cleared quickly. I (we) were tremendously lucky, and I’m with you - this cost should be bourne by wider society as we all benefit from it
