My tomatoes look at the raised bed I put them in and laugh at me. “You think your puny walls can stop us?”

A corner shelf, in a wooden greenhouse, holds some loose soil and around 25 small tomato plants in square green pots. In the background are stacks of leftover plastic pots from previously planted flowers.
There are three long skinny tables tucked into the corner of a small office. Each table holds trays of plants. Some are young flower seedlings and others are small tomato and pepper plants.
After potting things up in the greenhouse this morning I now have over 100 plants growing in my office.
I started seedlings back in February and have subsequently come to realize that grow lights also make excellent SAD lights.
😂
I feel this so much. I’ve been researching for a while and there’s so much language that means nothing. “This matters is a hybrid springform ultra plush cooling foam amalgamation” from a company called SleepyDeepy that’s existed for 82 days and Wired magazine says it’s the best!
I've finally achieved the coveted goal of getting a "seat at the table."
Specifically my kitchen table as I try to bake, and eat, my way through mild burnout before starting a new job on the 24th.

A try showing 6 different packets of cherry tomato seeds. Including red, gold, orange, and blueish tomatoes.
Today was seed planting day. Added tomatoes and several varieties of flowers to the seedling crew. This is my home office which I rearrange every time this year to give plants more square footage than myself. 🌱

Sun! In Michigan! Today!
I have an odd habit of taking landscape photos without my phone recognizing I want to be in landscape mode. It would be nice if my phone could recognize a photo needs to be rotated, and rotate it for me.
That's my thought leadering done for the day, back to my windmill cookie inspired coffee.
I'll be more interested when 40 becomes the new 60 and I can retire to a life of bourbon and gardening.

This is an excellent example of the vibe I’m giving off for the rest of the month.
"Empowered" to make a decision but not given the grace to be wrong is a special kind of stress 😅
I loved this perspective. Reminded of advice Abby Covert gave me during a 1:1 (asked about what to know when starting an IA role). She said an IA is often not the owner of the work & needs to facilitate decisions, not necessarily make them & delay in making them causes the work to stagnate or fail.
From now on I’m doing work in ‘purposeful clumps.’
That is to say I’ve grown tired of hearing the words ‘agile’ and ’sprint.’ It’s so pompous and needs a change. Given that, Monday, my project starts its next purposeful clump of work. I can’t wait.

Little dude is a much more reliable indicator of house temp than the Nest. Better load times too.
Thanks Sarah! And yes, my baking, gardening, and crocheting supplies all looked on in horror as I brought home sheets of leather and stitching paraphernalia. Not to mention my TBR backlog of books.

I’ve learned to saddle stitch. With this great power I’ve decided to learn to make things I can kick very hard. For reasons.
(The nice looking ball on the right was a purchase and the inspiration for this newfound skill, I’m not that good, yet)
Got my greenhouse set up a couple weeks ago, just in time for 4 more inches of snow.
Sort of resembles an Acanthus. They can be known to spread by rhizomes and propagate from root cuttings so can grow new foliage from any broken roots.
Nothing cheers you up like some morning frostbite while you gaze at the grey Michigan haze in -15° windchill!
