Apparently there was one specific instance after player intros when they are supposed to shake hands again, but the fact that he didn’t stay on the court to shake hands with any of the SC players and support his own team is further proof he was just mad he lost to Dawn and SC.

"Sociology teaches that the social world—what it consists of, how it works—can be truthfully known"
Helpful to be reminded that honest, effortful seeking of knowledge threatens racist delusions of grandeur. ✊
I’d bet Tulsi only because I think he’d have an easier time finding some other loyalist to fill that role for the time being.
I want this to be an advertisement for the next Fast and Furious installment so bad.
Listened to the first few chapters on my way to St. Louis and decided it would be better to wait until I can take notes.
I think this is the year when you stop feeling bad eating leftover dessert from the day before for breakfast. That could be 28, though, so keep it in mind for the future if it is not 27.
He could just pay his fair share of taxes and help avoid this issue. Instead, he contributes to this broken economic system then tries to play hero with his billions.
A recent Atlantic column claimed society is allegedly "transing" effeminate boys. For my @xtramagazine.com column this month, I wrote a rebuttal using my own experience as a young, closeted trans girl. xtramagazine.com/power/identi...
This headline made me realize that I need to be more explicit when I say that my contempt for Trump is extended to his supporters and enablers. As a “radical liberal,” I’m only sorry this information seems to have been hidden.
The women’s team is in a tough situation. How much time do they get to spend talking about their historic run through this and past Olympics because the men made and are making poor choices? The women do interviews with big outlets to grow their leagues and get end up talking about the men.
I do hope journalists ask the men to explain their behavior and don’t let them hide behind a “focus on hockey” answer either. They chose to draw attention away from hockey by their actions in that locker room and by attending the State of the Union.
I’m quoted quite a bit here so perhaps I’m biased but I feel this is a good run down of what the Epstein files tell us about how power works in academia. with some good commentary from @jessicacalarco.com, too:
Lots of myths to dispel.
It bears repeating that Tom Homan is a fucking psycho and Greg Bovino's exile means functionally nothing when it comes to what's happening on the ground in Minnesota.
If I am understanding this correctly, conservatives would have liked Bad Bunny’s halftime if it was just performed in english. Like Kendrick, or Usher, or Rhianna, etc… whose shows they laud to this day.
I share this sentiment/concern. All of this seems like an attempt to set rules that the administration will break. The administration is already breaking the law. We don’t need more examples or rules for them to break.
Predicting that this week we’ll hear more conciliatory words from the Administration regarding Minnesota (since they’re starting to realize that ICE has become politically toxic) but everyone outside of Minnesota needs to know that nothing on the ground has changed.
They will always deflect responsibility while, at the same time, saying personal responsibility is a core value of theirs.
My hope is that as they back down, the general public remembers that they didn’t have to do any of this to begin with and could have stopped at any point.
I am. But there are three things at play here regarding ICE collecting private data. Quick rundown on the issue, why you should be paying attention, and what I'm doing about it:
They’ve become such “rugged individualists” who can only follow orders from the authorities they deem legitimate that they truly cannot see communities coming together to support and protect one another as anything but “planned opposition from some evil mastermind.”
Will probably reassign themselves to a state that won’t send them back to Minnesota for what will hopefully be a thorough investigation and potential prosecution.
You could actually structure your moral code around the idea that law enforcement doesn't exist to execute people. You don't have to create perfect victim narratives, you can just refuse to accept that the state gets to kill people.
One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!
If you haven’t already done so, you gotta find some of the Biscoff ice cream bars.
For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.
The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
I hope the admin’s supporters who are currently expressing dismay are not fooled by any attempt to “soften” the brutal, selfish, authoritarian approach to what is difficult to even call governance. This is not a failure of optics.
seeing corporate outlets repeatedly refer to ICE beating the shit out of protesters as “clashes” may be the thing that sends me over the edge
Everyone (my age and younger) who’s close to their dad should thank the women’s movement
The issue with ICE is not training, the issue with ICE is that it fundamentally should not exist. The violence is the purpose
They are trying to save sports writers some energy by only requiring them to write about the fourth quarter.
