This is something that non-EV owners usually don't realize.

With an EV, you typically have a full battery every time you leave the house (especially if you have an L2 charger).

There is always some reporter who is willing (and often eager) to carry water for the fossil fuel industry by repeating their talking points to reinforce the FUD about EVs.

Once you actually own an EV, you quickly understand how silly most of those talking points are.

Most people who have a garage do end up doing 99% of their charging at home (unless they are on a road trip).

The public charging infrastructure is also much, much better than it used to be.

I usually do that same thing when I get a new main router.

Best Buy had the exact ASUS WiFi 7 router that I wanted on sale, plus they had the 15% trade-in promotion on top of that.

I traded in my dead router and got a good deal on the new one. Saved me the bother of disposing of the old one too.

Our electric provider limits grid-tied solar PV systems to 10kW, which is what I have.

If I add a plug-in solar system, I can easily get about 20% more solar production capacity. I can also add some more incremental battery capacity to the house.

I wish my Hyundai Ioniq 5N had V2G available!
