Worse, and not only on green issues
@georgemonbiot.bsky.social
"After 14 years of environmental vandalism, it might have seemed impossible for Labour to offer anything but improvement. But on green issues, this government is worse than the Tories."

It’s these two against the civilised world and rules-based international order.
By golly, Labour couldn't bark up a more wrong Brexit tree if they tried.
Strongly out of tune with 80% of their 2024 voters. Extraordinary mistake. That's substantially more than necessary to lose the 2029 GE.
But hey ho, they'd rather stick their necks in the sand.

I've always loved the fact that the word 'sneeze' is the result of a historical accident. The original form, in the Middle Ages, was 'fnese', but someone mistook the 'f' for the long medieval 's' and wrote down 'sn-' instead.
Fneezing sounds much more like a proper, nasal sneeze.
Patients are dying in hospital corridors and going undiscovered for hours, while others who suffer heart attacks cannot be given CPR because of overcrowding in walkways, a bombshell report on the state of the NHS has revealed.

😂
Exactly, Ann!
Badenoch sounds like a primary school pupil reading out questions from a book she does not understand.
#PMQs
#PMQs is an embarrassment.
Do the MPs, whose salaries we pay, really think we want to hear these childish taunts and subsequent hilarity every week?
Is this just a ridiculous unfunny comedy show now, while people in the real world suffer poverty and hardship?
Most previously long term Labour voters who are appalled at Starmer’s government (like me) would not touch Reform with a barge pole. Of course we will go to the Greens or Libdems.
As many as one in six workers in Britain are skipping meals to make ends meet as households remain under pressure from the higher cost of groceries, energy and other essentials.

Paramedics in England are unable to respond to 100,000 urgent 999 calls every month because they are stuck outside hospitals waiting to hand over patients, endangering thousands of lives.

No I agree. The politicians today just aren't in the same class.
I get sick of seeing posts saying "The grown ups are in charge now".
@MarinaHyde is right here when she says of British politics at the moment:
"There are no adults in the room: there’s barely a room."

Did you vote Labour in 2024?
Is this what you voted for?
Staggeringly misleading & irresponsible article by Express online. Neither I nor my site've ever said that. It's a perversion of our "earn under £35k & it's worth checking a benefits calc to see if you're missing out on owt" into dangerous, trite clickbait.
The president of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society hit out at the difficulties in obtaining stocks of flu vaccinations, as she called for better national coordination and planning to ensure everyone eligible can access them easily.

"A group of 10 councillors who had been elected for Reform UK have given notice of their intention to resign en masse in protest at Nigel Farage’s leadership."
You love to see it.
Mel Gibson’s $14.5m house burned down whilst he was denying climate change exists on the Joe Rogan podcast.
Oh dear.
Fox recruiting for henhouse guard duties.
Thanks, Labour. Thanks a bunch.
The line to collect your P45s in 2029 is the one on the right.

Caroline Lucas, "We keep being surprised by these phenomenon.. Floods in Valencia.. Hurricanes that hit the US"
"What else does nature have to throw at us to wake us up to recognise that this is being massively exasperated by climate change"
Well said @carolinelucas.bsky.social
My letter in today's Guardian. Just asking, like. But I think we know the answer.
A lot of horses have already escaped... but there's still a very numerous herd that will be kept in by this measure.
Remember, we won't reach the annual peak of "flu season" for another 5-6 weeks... we're still at the start of it.
Can't understand why they didn't do it sooner though.
#WearAMask
No indeed. The reluctance to implement it is frustrating.
Shutting the door after the horse has bolted springs to mind...
"Multiple NHS hospitals have reintroduced a requirement to wear face masks in clinical areas as they declared critical incidents due to surging demand and winter viruses."

"Gloucestershire acute trust declared a “critical incident” on Wednesday as hospitals in England asked patients seeking medical help to come alone to reduce overcrowding in A&E."

Starmer "is less leftwing than almost all of his 401 Labour colleagues, according to the research by Chris Hanretty..."
Why did Starmer (and Reeves) choose to stand for Labour when they clearly do not espouse real Labour Party values? A mere vehicle to power...
