What poetic justice.

Happy birthday, Ziggy! From Archie, who is 14 and a half.
Are you at Arboretum?
I wouldn't agree with Paul Murphy on everything, but to his credit I think he went because he knew those people were there. The abuse of him was reported in the media which I think was useful.
I have been wondering how these stretched-to-the-limit folk can afford to spend 6 days at a protest. And it's not just them suffering from high fuel prices - we all have to pay those. Making drivers use more fuel to make your stance against high fuel prices...
Oh, sorry - I thought it was 60s rather than specfically 1961. I should read posts more carefully ๐
That's what was making me think twice...
I love his stuff.
Been picking it up and putting it down again for a while; wasn't sure how I felt about it. It was seeing you post to say how much you liked it that made me buy it.
So, it's *your* fault ๐
Why not JLC's second book, A Murder of Quality?
Looked everywhere down here without luck, so v pleased to find it.
Can't believe you took this long to read WACU! It's brilliant, isn't it? Did I recommend the BBC radio version to you? A galaxy of wonderful actors.
@alanmuttley1066.bsky.social pleased to have found this today in Lisburn - it means I can do the fasoulia again, properly this time.
I was only delighted to visit Lesley @bridgebooksdromore.bsky.social again and come away with a book or two...(ahem). I got some Agatha Christie freebies (and a Joanna Cannon proof!), and Mr Lesley very kindly treated me to a latte. Fabulous day.
We were not allowed to watch ITV.
I'm not sure there's much that can beat getting into a freshly-made bed.
Note: as long as it is made to my requirements; other bed-making options are available.
Me too with the Dooleys - everything else I know. Some crackers in there.
I was 14. Seems like only last year (sigh).
I read it when it first came out, and loved it. Have been reluctant to read it again in case it was nowhere near as good, but I'm glad to say I am really enjoying it. The details had escaped me whilst I minded the general story arc.
Thank you! I may be waving at you on my way past...
Happy Easter from a chilly, windy and wet Co Meath - awaiting the arrival of Storm Dave.
Good to hear that; next but one on my list. Currently re-reading A Gentleman in Moscow, then it's Children of Strife by Adrian Tchaikovsky.
What a dote he is; love that expression on his face. I think I can see a thought approaching...
Absolutely! A real pal wouldn't be that thoughtless, surely?
That *has* to be Colin's sturdy stance ๐งก๐ค
A friend will tell you in advance and let you assess your own risk.
Damn right.
Done!
Mindlessly channel hopping, I just found an episode of The Good Old Days (BBC4) - Eartha Kitt! Roy Castle playing the bagpipes! Hinge & Bracket! What the feck were we all on back then?
I'm half-way through book 2 and rationing myself because it's brilliant; I know you're writing more, but I'm hoping to stay at least 2 books behind you for the next 20 years or so ๐
He's been an absolute bollix for the last couple of days - we're off to the V E T tomorrow for his annual jags. I swear he's able to read the calendar.
@craftycow.bsky.social Archie's snugged up on the sofa this morning.
