but the thing that helped me a lot is exactly what you said: instead of leading with 'it SHOULD BE--', I learned to lead with 'hey WHY ISNT it this way', because you have to come to terms with the fact that you simply do not-and cannot-know everything.

yea as someone who has been Doing the Activism thing for well over 20 years now, and was confirmed to have C-PTSD, the thing that pisses me off THE MOST is how things could absolutely be so much better and easier and simply Are Fucking Not because plainly speaking: people suck.

we have to remember that organizations do not operate like our communities. organizations have real, tangible ramifications if things aren't handled correctly. At the community level, we can be more forward.

I say this as someone who has worked in corpo nonsense, been abused, & runs a community.

from a protections and legal standpoint, it is a general bad idea to air out all the details, not just because people will interpret it however they want, but also because it 100% guarantees that the victim will be caught in the line of fire.

The top priority is *always* protection of the victim.

Juneteenth (Class of) 2026 is the perfect time to join us. It's low stakes, it gives you a chance to stretch your legs (or let your hair down), and helps you find the speciality group that you are looking for. I named speedruns: but I'm actually more of a challenge runner as the lead.

NEVER feel like its too late to join. It isn't.

I turn 40 this year and just found my stride in Cuphead speedrunning and am learning Touhou Luna Nights. There is a space-and a slice-for you.

Over the last 4 years, as a community we have poured our hearts and souls into making BaF the space that it is.

It would mean the world, to me at least, for fellow Black speedrunners, challenge runners, and Black runners doing Weird Shit in their games to join us. I want to see us grow more.

and with the additions of @popnotarts.bsky.social , @champrul.bsky.social , and @cassasaur.bsky.social : the group has become that much better in a span of 5 months.

Now this is where the unfortunate CTAs come in.

Within this last year: I got the opportunity to finally make a stance for myself. Again: I was accustomed to working alone.

2025 was the year that I finally broke the trend.
I went to management directly and said

"I need help."

I yearned for spaces like these when I was younger. Growing up as a Black nerdy person has its.......moments.

And BaF truly does feel like home.

It's a lovely, energizing, and absolutely beaming group of Black talent and personality. The members who make it up are some of the funniest, dedicated, and encouraging on this side of the internet. And they're all here, uplifting each other, ferociously.

I couldn't ask for more.

I cannot stress enough that Black in a Flash, as a community, isn't just a job for me: it may actually be my pride and joy. I ADORE the BaF community and what it has become.

and that talent that I had met, and awkwardly hosted for, or talked to, or yelled at, for the last 2.5-3 years, pulled up in droves and said:

"PT, how do I help?"
