Ideas are cheap. Dozens come every day. That’s the easy part. So easy it’s automatic. Execution is the art.

Except that postmodern theorist are paraphrased everywhere, their ideas reduced to single sentences or catch phrases. Central premises of postmodern feminism, queer theory, linguistics... I see this stuff all the time, reproduced as consensus. Do you mean that people don't use the word anymore?

I read many of these stories when they were originally published and they’re all incredible. Can’t wait to dig into this collection

lab tech asked what music I wanted to listen to and I thought he meant it would play inside the machine so I requested @clppng.bsky.social but the speakers were all the way over by his workstation so for the next hour it was just me n Phil n "THERE EXISTED AN ADDICTION TO BLOOOOD BLOOOOD BLOOOOD"

I almost said this too, but I think that all takes place on Earth?

What a stacked fuckin list! Here's a piece I wrote about Edge of Eternities last year that was mostly about Splendor & Misery! ravnicanreadingnook.com/2025/04/02/e...

@clppng.bsky.social also has the best tiny desk concert of all time.

Pretty good list but PlanisphÆrium by Wormed is better than any of the metal albums on there

I appreciate “top tier” haha. Not sure how accurate…

And I see your point. Like I said, my first response was just my immediate reaction.

In 2016 we had initially discussed going for Related Work

The fact of the matter is—we got on the ballot the first time because I begged on Twitter. I kinda forgot to do any kind of campaigning this time around. All we ever really want is an excuse to go and hang out with our friends at worldcon

Whereas, going up against a bunch of multimillion dollar TV shows gives me zero guilt if we eke out a nomination (and inevitably lose haha)

This is an interesting idea. Didn’t know there was a poetry category now.

I’m not sure how I feel about putting us in that category though. My knee jerk reaction is that people who write sf poetry don’t have a ton of support and I’d feel bad taking up a spot on the short list…

The latest @clppng.bsky.social Dead Channel Sky is rapid, intricate cyberpunk lyricism that deserves to be celebrated as poetry.

They are master wordsmiths and their work is more poetry than it is a Dramatic Presentation (where they've been previously shortlisted).

7th grade in the 90s was a scary place

Mind you, this was four or five years before the film adaptation (which is much less horrific than the novel in some ways) so I had no clue what to expect. Went in utterly blind.

Not recommended! Halfway through I realized I should be hiding it under my bed until I was finished and could get rid of it, lest my parents happen upon it

Fantastic. A lot of the glitches on Splendor & Misery are autoCAD files opened as audio
