Govan’s Festival Park is in line to receive a new entrance and path to improve safety with work to start this financial year.
I mean we have and we do, that's where the Verity House Agreement comes from. The sad reality is though that most media outlets don't care that much about local government so it doesn't get enough pick up for people to notice.
And by bare bone I mean everything that isn't statutory gets defunded. Would make current situation look utopian
Because the government appoints someone to come in and set the budget and cuts everything to the bare bone.
It has been considered on a near annual basis

The solidarity was palpable at the Village Hotel picket today - the first hotel strike since 1979 ✊️

Anyone bringing Fascist iconography & ideology to our streets aren't welcome in Glasgow ❌️
A Glasgow representative has called for the council to use its powers to stop a Ukip 'mass deportation' march scheduled for Saturday
After the Sandie Peggie tribunal I’m looking forward to the Scottish media covering all employment tribunals with such intensity. At last we’ll get in-depth reporting on workers rights, low pay & unfair dismissal
Unless of course there’s some other reason for the obsession. What could it be though?

Very honoured to be considered worthy of your 'not wildcards' list 😂
Oh for sure. Their policy platform will be very interesting for this.
Aye I get that but there's been a lot of greens upset the last few days at the prospect of a more left-wing party and I think it's helpful to acknowledge we aren't nearly as perfect as we think we are. Lack of internal debate is the cause imo but the problem is there.
My point is that many people won't see the Greens as a party of the left because while we clearly are in theory, we often aren't in practice. Such as with forcing local government austerity.
Every council across Scotland is either breaching statutory duties or running scarily close. That's not from local government cutting our own budgets, noone is decreasing their rates or council tax. The cuts are all coming from Holyrood budget.
2023 isn't nearly the only time we've supported cuts to local budgets.
This council improved and/or maintained services, saved £400,000 and have seen the number of job applications increase by more than 120%.
Seems like a success to me.
Parliament in a nutshell:
Yesterday MPs, including Yvette Cooper, celebrated the suffragette legacy of civil disobedience that won women the right to vote..
Only to then vote to designate non-violent direct action group Palestine Action as terrorists.
Westminster is broken.

Lib dem I believe
Pathetic behaviour from Glasgow Labour. It is incumbent on all of us to stand up and call out the government when they make mistakes. They could have done this today but instead they were more concerned about their cowardice being called out.
