Okay so you might see this video with the audio muted. Now imagine how the music must sound like. I urge you to unmute and listen to what it's actually like because I guarantee you you're not prepared for it.

It's what we call supertext
I'm really gonna need to give it a shot, then!
Mind you, it's rare, and the possibility doesn't scare me - I'm more fascinated by medical stuff than anything.
But... ah, I feel sensitive skin on my lower back, too. Same dermatome as my stomach. Well, we'll see what happens!
Why? Apparently shingles affects the nerve from your spine to specific strips of your skin called dermatomes - that's why the rash is usually a strip or belt. If it shows up outside that dermatome, it means the virus is affecting multiple areas of your body, possibly organs. That's dangerous.
Sensitive spot on my belly. This is exactly how the other shingles spots started, and it'd be highly unusual for another patch to pop up. Might just be my occasional sensitive skin spot, but I'm gonna monitor.
If it IS another spot of shingles, that means it's hospital time lol
If "Magypsy" is a name chosen due to racist stereotypes, well, I'm fine losing a bit of that in the translation. I want some feminine men in my video games!
Genderqueer is in, but the name... From what I understand, it's supposed to be a portmanteau of magic and "Gypsy," chosen as a female name. It does feel a touch racist, but there are other names that'd get the same idea across.
Magelicas
Magiselles
Magiavannas
Majulias
I survived the okama sections of One Piece. I think I can tackle Mother 3 sometime - as far as I understand, the okama things are much better presented, and I'm wondering if it's actually questionable enough to be held back from an official translation.
I'd change the name "Magypsy," though
Gotta be honest - you're kinda knocking it out of the water this year! We can all hope for specific things from you, but the surprises have been amazing.
Tomodachi life real
I mean, of course it's not true. It's founded in sexism.
I feel like putting about 50% of the world's population into a teeny tiny worldview like this isn't helpful. Silly Billy.
For real, though, fiction gives people a chance to see through others' eyes. We should celebrate men wanting to try out a dad simulator, honestly!
The two points of view for the story? First-person and second-person. Because I'm a mad lad.
I really like experimental styles, anyway.
A screenshot of an extremely work-in-progress point and click adventure game. The room is flat color wireframe boxes, while the character is Roger Wilco from Space Quest, which was included in the software demo. Roger stands in front of a bare mattress on a floor. the player has clicked "Look at Seth's Bed" and Roger responds "I forget which podcast I bought this mattress from."
Behold, my first environmental point-and-click adventure joke
My god, such a perfect line
I realized the best way for this story is to write one character with two points of view at the same timeβdon't wanna spoil it, but I think it's honestly the best way to capture the character's soul. Story itself isn't complicated at all, but the style IS the character.
I've had a short story in mind for about 14 years now, and I think I finally realized how I want to write it. Probably will be the most complicated thing I've written, but I'm starting today.
When I die in a game and realise I haven't saved in over half an hour
I heard people speculate that I was talking about stuff to get attention or whatever. Nah - I don't do well with negative attention. If anything, it's to heal and hope that others have the space to heal, as well.
And I think I'll get there.
And I've wanted this to be the year of healing - healing from my gallbladder surgery was the main goal, but I think letting past traumas go is part of it. That doesn't mean forgiving; people gotta ask for that. But it means preparing to forgive.
Shingles, canker sores throughout my mouth... yeah, I think it's the end result of stress. Turns out being quiet about stuff for a decade then speaking about it isn't the most pleasant experience.
But it'll get better. Hurts like hell when you talk, but it leads to healing.
As a @kusogrande.bsky.social GM, there is nothing more delicious than when your tester goes "Oh no."
My gosh, One Piece dubbed is absolutely the way to watch it. The sub gets the idea across, but dub? There's just so much character in every single line. It's honestly top-tier translating.
We raised $6013.19 for Lost-N-Found Youth Atlanta this weekend! A huge thank you to everyone who watched and participated! We couldn't do it without you all!π

Ah, there we go. Fever really starting to kick in. I was thinking I might've gotten away without one, but nope!
BTW, The @kusogrande.bsky.social Archipelago is still going! Looks like 12/43 games are done - a little over a third of them.
I'm currently blocked, but I can keep shaping up my Factorio base for when I get unblocked.
