Cappuccino, a boat trip, lunch by the water, and a glorious stroll around Lake Como. What a fantastic day hanging out with my great pal @belindanoonan.bsky.social on a day with no figure skating at the Games.

A week until I depart for my 9th Games for Olympic Broadcasting Services, and my third-consecutive Winter Olympics. I am overjoyed to be heading to Milano Cortina to once again commentate all of the figure skating with my great friend, the incomparable @belindanoonan.bsky.social. I’m so excited!

Yes, I will be doing all the figure skating with Olly Hogben for OBS. (Olympic Broadcast Services).

Hope you can join us.

Shout out to Mrazkova/Mrazek for nailing AC/DC.
The Young brothers who formed ACDC literally lived around the corner when I was a teenager.
Again, the CZE team nailed the raw, thumping adrenalin that is Acca Dacca.

Thrilling to see where the Olympics began in Greece, walk the track and soak in the history.

Really looking forward to Milano 2026 and an exciting Olympics. Not long to go now. Research has been in swing for a while now.

As Australia battles wild weather and coastal erosion, we should learn from our mistakes | Wendy Harmer Not only is it arguably the ugliest edifice built on the coast, Collaroy’s seawall may protect private property in the short-term, but it will destroy the beach

Wrote about this for The Guardian 3 years ago... "What we need is an independent, non-political commissioner to oversee management of our coast"
This is URGENT, Premier Minns!

‘We grabbed the cat and got out’: The waterside dwellers facing rising sea levels Living beside the beach is the ultimate Australian dream. But for some, rising tides and coastal erosion are turning it into a nightmare.

There should be a moratorium on any new seawalls or coastal fortifications in NSW.
Instead of our ad hoc approach.
It's all about sand nourishment!
Other states are embracing the science - cost effective and saving beaches too!!

Good grief. Now the conservative Coalition parties “Liberals” (not liberal) and “Nationals” (not national) have put their split of two days ago on hold.
Immature is the kindest word I have.
Idiots is more on point.

Put regular, working Australians and their needs foremost? Not even mentioned.

Wait and do full review and have an understanding of their combined catastrophic loss. Nope, can’t wait or agree on that either.

Spend billions on rural programs. Nope, can’t agree on that.
Pretend to get along and figure it out in the next few years? Nope, can’t agree on that.

That the two conservative parties have ended their coalition reminds us all what a failure of a government they would have been because they can’t agree on basic policies. Nuclear or not? Nope, can’t agree on that.

My take on the AUS Liberal/National Coalition split. Both are centre right and some MPs further right wing.
Nats prioritise rural, Libs don’t (unless it’s fossil fuel/water/minerals to be sold.
Women, climate, the vulnerable don’t seem to matter much to either party.

I’ve slowed down hugely on clicking on any Trump stories. Absolutely over him dominating news cycles. It’s boring and he backflips on most things.
He is fast becoming yesterday.

According to SMH report - Rinehart says, "Coalition needs to embrace Trump-style policies."

Nah. We had our say on that style two days ago.

Gina is perfectly positioned to dig a few more holes.

Not a hole I will be hopping in to.

The media blackout for the federal election (in Australia) can’t come soon enough.
Won’t have to delete political text messages to my phone that you can’t block.

I’m so over all of them.

The choice to block these texts should be legislated.

We certainly don't need huge nuclear submarines that can't hug the Australian coastline.... like... in a defensive situation.

Dobell MP Emma McBride

Dobell MP Emma McBride

First time I've put a poster on my fence.
A year ago my federal MP Emma McBride's office went above & beyond to secure a passport for my newly born granddaughter to get from Hong Kong to her Auntie's wedding in Sydney.
We were all very grateful for her assistance.

James Morrison and his band at Avoca Beach Theatre.

Avoca Beach Theatre attracts amazing artists. Tonight we saw the incredible James Morrison and his band with Mat Jodrell. Jazz at its best. Woohoo.

Many are funded groups running ads on YT. Usually a white woman being resentful about Welcome to Country.
It's not Australia as colonised and a flag with England on it we are being welcomed to. It's the 60,000 year old spirit of the land we are being invited to share.

Morons.
I block every ad

Completely, absolutely.
A lovely, yet simple joy in these complex times provided by you.

For Aussies... Lamb loin also translates to lamb backstrap. (Not paying by weight for the bone in the loin).
