I have yet to get an iPhone for that.

With the price rise and acute shortage of base 17, the plan is delayed until I can afford it ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Tech wise, there are zero blockers.

This update was originally written for #mastodon and #misskey users.

That is why you see the chat tab broken, for example.

Just sharing my recent devlogs here, since #bluesky support is almost imminent (minus #atproto x #activitypub bridge shenanigans).

Old devlogs available here:

I will post more often on this side from now on ๐Ÿ™‚

A clipped screenshot showing that the author intended to work on a feature, but spent their entire weekend doing anything but that. All the while, running around refactoring random aspects of the app to no particular benefit.

Raised a PR to implement XYZ feature.

Hmm... this part of the app needs a wee bit refactoring ๐Ÿง

300+ files, 25 hefty commits and 1000s of line changes later... I have yet to implement said feature after a whole weekend of refactoring...

...profit ? ๐Ÿ˜ญ

A code snippet, which fetches a list of notifications using the atproto api, using reasons as filter.

It's a pain to paginate through, though... since the subscription items always float to the top of the list.

I wish the #atproto api used the "reasons" input parameters as a pre-processor to the notifications, rather than a post-process filter (which is the current behaviour).

Anyone else suffering from the absolutely crammed mess that can be the notifications in #bluesky sometimes?

Sure, the mention tab helps somewhat.

But, what if we had... fully separate categories for social updates (likes/shares/follows) and subscriptions? ๐Ÿค”

This is a bit wasteful in terms of data and may put pressure on smaller PDS hosts.

Dhaaga will solve this by giving you option to pin users and hashtags directly.

As you refresh the page, you get author/tag level unread count directly (upto 20+, via a single api call).

It's all in beta, though.

It does not support timeline sync in a traditional sense.

In fact, it is very tricky to implement for #bluesky, since #atproto uses timestamp based cursors.

Most apps that support timeline sync today, do so, by trying to pull hundreds/thousands of posts, until your timetime position is reached.

It's an open-source app that solves a lot of usability pain points for SNS users in the #fediverse and #atmosphere ecosystem.

A bit scared to post updates on #bluesky... because there are so many high profile apps flying around.

About 85% ready for usage. But, I don't want Dhaaga to be DoA ๐Ÿ˜”

Hello. Good evening!

May I ask if I can use this conversation as a screenshot for an app I am building?

It would have the right media dimensions and color contrast to showcase the features perfectly.

๐Ÿ‘‡ It will be visible in the website/playstore like this.

It was already mentioned in ep 82.

The development is still ongoing. Expecting maturity by end of Oct.

Will be sure to let you know!

Atproto and it's system of feeds is very much new and exciting to me. I want to make sure I can give it as much care and love as I did to Misskey and Pleroma forks.

Thanks for the spotlight!

Btw, this app already supports the entirety of #activitypub microblogging ecosystem ( #mastodon + #misskey + #pleroma) and all their major forks!

^ Most existing fedi apps only work with Mastodon

#bluesky is 4th entry.

The app idea is similar to #pidgin, but more fun ๐ŸŽ‰
