It’s too dangerous ground to tread because a card like that would invalidate deckbuilding restrictions. If I had to choose, it would be something severe like “your life total minus 1”. Outside of that, 13 could be a thematic choice that prevents more than one use without other effects.

Maybe {1}{C}. Urza’s Cave already searches for any land for {3}, but can produce mana and has the land enter tapped. {2} might be too easy and adding a {C} in there reins in the manabase.

My memory is immaculate! This was one of the first cards I played when I started playing competitive MTG!

I played this for about a year and it's a little toxic for lower power tables. It's very disruptive, but I found it has issues winning the game.
