Get in.

Happy for Molyneux, he’s the architect of many of my favourite games growing up.

He gets a lot of stick for his “lies”, but I firmly believe it has always come from a good place. He’s a dreamer whose dreams were sometimes a bit too big.

We need more dreamers in games, if you ask me.

Splatoon Raiders — Release Date Revealed — Nintendo Switch 2
Splatoon Raiders — Release Date Revealed — Nintendo Switch 2 YouTube video by Nintendo of America

I’ve still got no idea what Splatoon Raiders is.

Didn’t they used to have a single player mode just like this in the main games?

‘People still remember it 40 years later’: the making of Chuckie Egg The iconic game that came to define 8-bit programming still conjures flutters of nostalgia 40 years on – all thanks to a 15-year-old tea boy who worked a Saturday shift in a computer shop in Greater M...

Hi I wrote about the making of classic platformerChuckie Egg and talked to its creator Nigel Alderton. Please give it a read as I want to show there’s an audience for this gaming history stuff 🙏

Very happy I buckled. Two areas in, and I’m already enjoying Pragmata even more than I expected to.

Feels like a lost game from 2011 (incidentally, the last time games were consistently good).

Hairdressers and taxi drivers, so you can steer the latter away from all the racist patter.

I went back and forth on whether or not to get it on Switch - I played the demo on Switch and it is really good on there.

I’m actually between games and had been holding off properly starting anything for this - part of the reason I caved 😂

A danger to myself and others.

People are sick of paying for things they don’t own.

And since when are these things inconvenient? Are we so lazy now that “putting a disc in a machine” = lazy?

After last month’s Hard Boiled, this month’s beautiful 4K John Woo package is ‘The Killer’.

They should have cast Kenny Omega as Ken in that new Street Fighter film. Just saying.

Reluctantly cancelled my Pragmata preorder because I don’t have time to play the new games I already have. I’ll pick it up later (when it’s probably cheaper, too).

Is this what the kids call “growth”?

Fair play to Joe here.

I’m convinced a big chunk of the “physical only” crowd are only that way because they think they’re going to get a big pay day in 20-30 years time.

Shelf after shelf of unopened, unused games. Play your games people!

I’ve been thinking that. Literally a cut out from a screenshot on a plain white background. Terrible.

Haha yes! I think about that every time I think of Road Rash. I think we played the game more like that than we did “properly”.

Road Rash II, but more than 15 frames per second.

Make it so.

Yeah, the official Nintendo mag was the last one of the old school I was subscribed to too. I miss that magazine.

N64 Magazine was the first mag I subscribed to - and stayed subbed right through the GameCube days. God knows where all those issues are now… probably a landfill.

I only subscribe to two games mags: Retro Gamer and Edge.

I think I only really sub to Edge because it’s the only game in town (pun intended) when it comes to magazines about modern computer games. I really wish there was an alternative that didn’t take itself so seriously.

I miss the old days.

Rare recent examples of demos really selling their games!

I didn’t fancy either game until I played the demos, but Pragmata especially really stood out for me.

Can’t really justify more games either, but was going to get TL for her indoors. As it is, I’ll have to make do with Pragmata instead 😉

Tomodachi Life currently out of stock everywhere.

Probably a good thing - Pragmata is out this week too, and I’m much more interested in that.

But I refuse to believe that demand for TL has been so high that it’s sold out before release… are the rumours of Nintendo limiting physical stock true?

Granit Xhaka not giving a fuck about Spurs being in the relegation zone.

Granit Xhaka not giving a fuck about Spurs being in the relegation zone.

“Give this football club respect”. Our captain.

Also, imagine asking Sunderland’s captain what he thinks about Spurs being in the relegation zone. Politely, I’m sure he doesn’t give a fuck.
