Absolutely crazy story that ties together many aspects related to cybersecurity, specifically about Iran‘s nuclear ambitions and how defectors have helped the U.S. keeping Iran away from the bomb, including through Stuxnet

It's Trans Day of Visibility today. If you're trans and are raising money for something (I don't care what it is), reply to this thread and I will boost you.

If you are a cis person, take a look and find someone to support if you can.

Everyone give this a share after.

(It's possible I'm missing relevant context here but i couldn't figure out how a merger means "closing" both otherwise)

I think they're merging linguistics into languages (but functionally closing it), but not closing both? "The most substantial change is the merger of the Department of Linguistics and the Department of World Languages (...) and the phasing out of all degrees offered by the Department of Linguistics"

I’ve been looking at National Parks material flagged for review and flipping through my collection of historical brochures and textbooks. I’m trying to transform my frustration into an article. We cannot go backwards. 🗃️

This is such a fascinating point and I decided to see if the data exists, and apparently the USDA has tracked equine populations on farms since the 1850s.

The US equine population peaked at 25 million in the 1920s then fell to a low of 2.1 million in 1992 (it’s since rebounded to ~4 million).
