From my perspective as an American: Post war Japan is such an interesting time period with how tradition and modernity are existing side by side, the shifting self image of the nation, and the experiences of repatriated soldiers coming home to an almost different country.

Seriously, Kousuke Kindaichi is such a perfect, plucky detective character. Start with The Honjin Murders since that’s the first book (written in 1946 I think), but then you can read them in any order as far as I’ve seen.

Juno is like almost 100% athleisure wear, she’s big on comfort, full mobility, and physical sensation. Mostly black or greys. But she’d clean up real nice in a fitted suit.

I mean, you’re right, but at this point in time it does exist. and until we get to the point of no more borders and nations we should be making sure things like the post office and nationalized healthcare are running smoothly.

(My own argument is that with a nation as large as the US there needs to be a representative body that makes sure infrastructure is still working on a national scale. Whether that counts as “the state” can be debated.)

Like, the best critique of socialism I’ve seen/read is that it doesn’t go far left enough. Socialism still has a place for like, the state, which movements like communism believe will/should wither away once society is set up correctly.

I’m guessing at most it was one, maybe two law firms involved, and the number of people they did this with is under 50. But it’ll be extrapolated to thousands of innocent people.
