I went back and confirmed Moon through another recording on YT. It’s brief, but she definitely did it.

I’m now in tears again. I can’t properly express how personally profound experiencing that was.

I didn’t pick up Moon during Voices, and that’s probably a good thing, because if I did, the ushers would have needed to drag me out of the venue sobbing. I never would have left.

I didn’t get Moon out of Voices - it must have been too subtle - but it makes sense given the corresponding visuals.

As an example: One of Kanno’s first songs of the night, CATALINA, was from her days composing for Koei and I’m fairly confident 99% of the audience had no clue where it was from. *I* had trouble recognizing it at first, and I own most of her catalogue, including the corresponding soundtrack!

My only nitpick - and it is minor AF - is that while I very much enjoyed the support at points from the rest of the Seatbelts, Conte, Matthew, the AMAZING choir…Kanno can absolutely hold a stage with just the piano for 90 minutes. Her body of work is deep enough and there were hints of that tonight.

Much like last year, tonight with Yoko Kanno felt like a test run for something larger. I hope with all my heart we see whatever that is come to fruition, because tonight was the most technically excellent performance by anyone I’ve ever seen and it’s not close. I was moved to tears multiple times.

The cameo of Ein AND Ed’s shadow (which was a little tougher to notice) made me audibly gasp and almost brought me to tears.

Saw a Facebook spot coyly promoting Frontiers Complete Edition. I really can't believe SEGA's re-releasing this game after...not even five years? Fans have longed for a remastered Adventure Series and Unleashed. Even 2006 Sonic is now 20 years old. This does not feel like the best use of resources.

I swear if the big Sonic release this year is just an enhanced Sonic Frontiers...

I'm still tickled at how clearly the Sonic movies represent divergent timelines. How one character design decided if it would be one of the most successful children's film franchises of the last ten years, or a single film punchline, quickly forgotten except for hack Youtube comedians.

I guess I'll need to investigate the new Great War 3 Pro Max alternative then.
