Ooh - minus one was very good!

Really beautiful. Your tables at Herts of Lard were an absolute pleasure to play on!
Thank you - they really are lovely figures aren't they. I've got two more units like this to paint. Looking forward to seeing yours when you get round to them.
I find Lucid Eye figures make you want to spend a bit of time on them and these Amazons were no exception. The took some time to finish, but I'm pretty pleased with the result.
Ruckus at the Wycombe Warband club this evening. A great fun game! The melΓ©e system is really exciting and always enjoyable (despite this evening's loss π€·.
Feet and more! I know what you're doing with these!
Have a great day Paul!
Beautiful painting on the orcs! They were my original orcs and I still have a soft spot for them. Haven't seen any of those kobolds for a long time!
Nice! I recognise the Crusader Miniatures command figures in there - I've been painting some of them myself recently.
Happy Birthday! Perhaps even now you're still filling up the corners π
Few more photos from last night's game - a Midgard ambush scenario set in the 2nd Punic War. It was tremendously good fun to play. The redeployment of the Punic traffic jam required much head scratching, but in the end I just squeaked a win at the end of the full six turns.
Just starting the first turn of a Midgard Punic Wars game at the Wycombe Warband club. I'm commanding the Carthaginians and I've been ambushed!
I've had these Amazons from Lucid Eye in the pile for ages, but was slightly put off by the assembly (the spear arms join at the wrist). In fact they've been relatively straightforward. Looking forward to getting some paint on them now - Lucid Eye figures are always enjoyable to paint!
Really! Didn't know that π.
Oh? How so?
Secret Affair! I remember painting a keyhole onto a slim black tie with Humbrol enamel as a sixteen-year-old π!
Ooh! Really regretted not buying these before Fogou closed up. Very pleased to see you've taken these on too.
A very bloody Midgard Heroic Battles game at the Wycombe Warband club last night. Steve has Normans for Saga so wanted to try this force in Midgard. He led them to a crushing victory against my Vikings in only his second game! I think he may be painting a few more Normans over the coming weeks!
Please do it if you can Annie. They would make a fantastic pairing.
My thoughts exactly!
Thanks. I did have some less successful attempts, but I changed the paper to a slightly heavier one and it really improved things.
Anticipating a Midgard game with a relatively new player at the club, I've been working on some better Viking command stands. Footsore and Crusader Miniatures.
Yes, lots of people I wanted to catch up with in the evening but didn't get a chance to. Arrangements for the evening meal were much better this year, but it ended up being a bit more of a static thing.
And yes - just what I was saying yesterday about the venue! Did he say 85 attendees this year?
Yes I played in the morning (when Bill and I were the ones burning boats!). I agree, it was a great scenario - lots going on other than the punch up at the fort.
Simon put up a few pictures on the Facebook group (don't know whether you're a member) if you want to say hello.
This afternoon's game was a Sharp Practice game on Rob Purbrick's beautiful table. A close game in which the French force scraped a win. With Sharpe, Harper and Ducos on the table I moved from one Bernard Cornwell-themed game to another! Congrats @joewargamer.bsky.social on another great day!
Just finished a terrific game on this table at Herts of Lard, hosted by Simon Stokes. A great scenario, but sadly Eolderman Odda's Saxons lost the day.
Played an interesting and new (to me) game of Swashbuckler at the Wycombe Warband club last night. Was nice to get out some pirate figures which haven't seen the light of day for ages.
Oh I see - thank you. A familiar story re the BBC. Perhaps Julian may go down the Kickstarter route, which seems to be working well for new episodes of Lovecraft and Mythos.
Congratulations on reaching the final! Do you know whether any more Aldrich Kemp series are planned?
