A silent blackbird (m) πŸ¦β€β¬› was FBOMD as well, on the prominent TV aerial of the house opposite. Only just though, a house sparrow (m) flew up & into the below gable end cavity. His 'Runner Up' appearance was joyful for me to have seen! πŸ‘€πŸ˜„

It was another 'ready or not' FBOMD, the sound of tiny passerine feet around the kitchen bay flat roof & gutter at 6am alerted me to look through the curtains to attempt an ID. My hunch was an exploring house sparrow.

A wood pigeon was FBOMD stood on a street light, back towards me, in my line of sight as I searched the privet hedge for a visible chirruper. There were several not visible chirruping house sparrows within the hedge.

Goldfinch, a tiny near silhouetted avian at the top of the droopy crown tree behind houses over the road. But, projecting distinctive goldfinch tinkling notes so loudly that FBOMD was unmistakable. πŸŽΆπŸ‘‚πŸ˜„

A blackbird flying directly away from me as I opened the frontdoor was FBOMD. Soon pursued by garden blackbird as the second blackbird flight path started from the street light, definitely garden blackbird's song & strategic post! πŸ¦β€β¬›πŸŽΆπŸ“‘

Woa, that's a very handy image you've captured to back up your red wattlebird observation! πŸ˜€

"Like a dial up in Fermanagh" Ah! and I'd always thought that the relatively poor connectivity I get with BlueSky, compared to other apps., was a local issue. I'll bear that quotation in mind the next time I am getting frustrated trying to make my 1st bird Reply on here.

Blackbird (m) on 'that' aerial which 2nd April glowed with peach-coloured iridescence. Just a silvery gleam today beneath the bird as the sun's rising angle πŸŒžπŸ“ has moved. And I think it wasn't 'Garden' blackbird. I saw Him πŸ¦β€β¬› registering concern peeping up!

A herring gull, on a pre-sunrise local reconnaissance flight, meandering up the road looking for scavenging opportunties. Seven days of FBOMD with the baton shuttling between corvids and gulls.

Lots of active corvids on a fine spring morning, flying here & there, checking things out from prominent aerials and investigating some scavenging opportunity in front of a house. FBsOMD were two tchaking jackdaws passing overhead.

A 7am herring gull (again) actually flying towards the estuary. Unusual gull behaviour - are the gulls now using '1st Bird tactics', i.e. putting in timely 'appearances' to catch my eye, to boost their reports like the jackdaws did during autumn & winter? πŸ˜†

How to feed your garden birds without spreading disease Summer feeding should be paused because this is a time when natural food sources such as caterpillars, bugs and flies, are much more abundant.

A herring gull making steady progress on the morning commute inland was a FBOMD that could happen at any time of the year. All of the active little, and not so little, birds seen soon afterwards were definitely in spring mode! πŸ¦πŸ’šπŸ˜€

Gosh, it sounds like this entirely different bird species shows similar 'Auditor General' characteristic behaviour as our European robins over here. Clearly, your feeding station replenishment passed this morning's quality audit. Well done!

Carrion crow perched on the prominent TV aerial of the house opposite against a pale blue background. Windows were reflecting the climbing sun adding to the spectacular, though brief, dominance of this regal crow who soon left a reverberating aerial!

FBOMD was a jackdaw sentry, keeping a watch from a TV aerial against a very dark cloud background, but picked out brilliantly by the sun 🌞 from where it rises in the spring.

"Effervescent robin" lovely! Our year round companions living in these islands. How lucky we are to have these darling birds around us! πŸ€Žβ€οΈπŸ˜„

Glad these house sparrows appear not to be in imminent danger! I happened to look out of an upstairs window Friday p.m. on the privet spring growth. Three grey & fuscous-headed males were close together. Butter would NOT have melted in those sturdy beaks! 😍

6.10am FBsOMD: Two herring gulls flapping over in cloudy early light & a male blackbird alighting on the end of ridge tiles; for him a commanding observational post, possibly to be transformed shortly into a concert platform to assert his territorial rights.

🎨 Yes, that's a pleasing mix of nature's colours which would make a wonderful painting! πŸ˜„

Garden blackbird, at 7am, darted urgently across the front garden, stopping on neighbour's far side fence & looking back. Then flew back & up onto the street light to overview his territory. No song, but he has sung beautifully over last ten days. πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ¦β€β¬›πŸ˜„

FBOMD a carrion crow flying from the woods at first storey level, crossing the road & then sweeping up magnificently to alight on a TV aerial. Though not perching for long, crow opted to drop onto the front, leaving the aerial quivering BOOYYYNGggg!!!

A male house sparrow registered surprise seeing my unexpected close presence by the side gate where he had suddenly landed. He flew off again, though not in panic! πŸ₯ˆBlue tits searching for nesting materials!
