Bracket was only 5 people and I’m the only one actively practicing SF6… but it was a pot bonus day for the Hops & Stocks anniversary… so I walked away with over 50 bucks, no games dropped. This feels like highway robbery LMAO. Fun games though, good people, good beer.

Local tonight. Rest assured that while I may be consumed with book release at the moment, I haven’t abandoned SF6.

Even very successful authors are usually fronting their own travel costs for the majority of events. It’s not as glamorous an industry as it looks from the outside ha ha. Lots and lots of invisible labor and costs.

I have a couple more events in PA/NJ between May and June scheduled that haven’t been announced yet.

Publishers rarely pay for your average author to travel to events. I’ve only had my publicist pursue opportunities somewhat close to home as the travel costs and my time are all on me.

Right now, announced are Bucks Book Fest May 2nd, my launch party May 8 at B&N, and a larger event there June 5th.

This week’s TNS stream is up in the air because I still have to finish shopping for clothes/makeup appropriate for my book launch events, and the first one (Bucks Book Fest) is under 2 weeks out. Streams will return in earnest before Combo Breaker, but I have a lot happening.

Mindy independently commissioned an artist and printed a huge panel depicting that scene as my XMas present. I bawled my eyes out. 😭

It hangs proudly in our living room now, a testament to how long this story (and this amazing girl) have stayed with me.

Christmas 2024, I almost forgot that Mindy had asked to read my opening scene. Aspect, my goofy robot sidekick, interrupts a stressful starship chase with an inappropriately timed (and inedible) birthday cake for the pilot, our heroine Kori. 🤖🎂

BETWEEN SUN AND SHADOW is out in 2 weeks. But before the book deal even went public in April 2025, my girlfriend has been the best partner on this planet. 🌎

I thought I was such a difficult kid shopping for clothes. Now knowing I’m autistic makes everything make much more sense. It’s an autism torture chamber.

3 hours later, Mindy + her mom helped me assemble one (1) outfit at the mall so we can build a few more before book launch.
