"Get on your bike. Ride your local bike lane, greenway, or street. It doesn’t need to be long; even a short neighborhood loop counts. Invite as many people as you can, including business leaders and elected officials. 1. Join a local solidarity ride and rally. Post a photo or short video and include: Your location and the name of the bike lane or street One sentence about why safe streets matter to you or your community. Include something about the place you rode. Tag your photos/videos: #AmericasBikeLane + #BikeLanesSaveLives tagging @bikeleague and @wabadc and your member of Congress. 2. Share a post from your bike lane. 3. Sign the petition and contact Congress. Take two minutes to send a message to your Member of Congress urging them to stop the removal of DC’s 15th Street bike lane and oppose any federal effort to unilaterally remove safe infrastructure, because BIKE LANES SAVE LIVES. "
If you can't find a nearby rally to join, you can still join in the action tomorrow. Whether you're showing up for a local ride, posting a selfie from your favorite bike route, or sending a message to your representative, every action counts!
