The indictment is arguing that by paying the informants, the SPLC was helping further extremist activity. But as Ryan notes below, the SPLC was sharing its intelligence with law enforcement. Is the Justice Dept suggesting that the FBI was using that intelligence to help these groups? Makes no sense

The hidden power keeping wages low For decades, economists gave short shrift to the idea of monopsony — a power employers can have to suppress wages. Now a wave of research suggests it's everywhere, and a new book argues it's key to understanding today's inequality.

A reddish white older dog lays on a white pillow on top of a red futon.

After an extended visit with his vet, he came home, deemed the inside of the house to be safe, refused his new meds, and went outside for one last security sniff.
Satisfied, he laid down in the tall green grass, and with me sitting next to him, went to sleep.
Farewell, dear Stoney, you were loved

Yesterday Stoney had a walk in his favorite park, including three extended dips in the creek.
This morning he had his favorite treat of cucumber slices, his kibble & freeze-dried liver breakfast topped with broccoli and freshly scrambled eggs.

He was quirky, prickly, mischievous, fearful and unwaveringly loyal.
Stoney became the man of the house when Ben moved out for college. He took that position seriously, protecting me against all threats--real, perceived, or completely in his head.
From that day forward, he became my dog.

To Stoney (1 April 2013 - 13 April 2026)

He was the dog I declared I did not want;
the dog whose name I did not choose;
the dog who, in frustration, I derided as my divorce dog;
and he was, by far, the most expensive dog I’ve ever had.

People will be closely studying how Hungary's opposition pulled off their win in such a pro-incumbent system. Important to note that the theme was corruption. Democrats need to get much better at calling out Trump's corruption.

As of Thursday, Israeli attacks have killed 738 people in the six months since the ceasefire, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. The ministry, part of the Hamas-led government, maintains detailed casualty records that are seen as generally reliable by U.N. agencies and independent experts. It does not give a breakdown of civilians and militants.
Funerals for two cousins were held Friday in Gaza City, a day after they were killed. "We were standing idly, drinking coffee, next to each other. We suddenly saw a (projectile) hitting the men," said Anwar Saleh, an eyewitness. Israel's military said it had struck a

Overall, the health ministry says 72,317 Palestinians had been killed since the war in Gaza began with the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on Israel.
