Happy Christmas, Imani!!
WOOOOOOORD!
Rutter maybe listened to some Tavener when writing this one?
I am loving the diversity of accents amongst the readers.
Wagner is so much less interesting after familiarising one‘s self with Berlioz beyond the „drug Symphonie“
For a moment, I wondered if you had become Hanslick 🤣
I‘m always a wreck after Tavener. Immediately after the new carol, only at the first utterance of Litte lamb am I a blubbering mess.
In the middle of the wonderful compositional voice, I can’t help but find Anglican chant plus a healthy dash of discant style ornamentation from the solo treble. I am loving it.
These two readings and the hymn in between (esp. stanza 3) are what we need so desperately.
They were revoicing the pedal division when I visited in June. Many a prayer for sweet and strong pedal playing from thenceforth were offered. And apparently heard!
How about that tenor enthusiasm near the mic!
i love this Maconchy Nowell & it's just a reminder to all of you to go listen to some more Maconchy (later, but do it!) #9LC
Right?!?
It was new RVW for me. And almost reduced me to tears

All of this. It’s why I am still tapping beat markers for tempo calculations. The correction time of ‚auto-detection’ is astronomical by comparison.

X post by Timothy Snyder (@TimothyD ...), posted 6 hours ago. The post reads, "The people Attorney General Bondi is calling 'terrorists' have had no trial and no chance to defend them. We do not know they are. Ignoring the Constitution does not make us safe. It puts us all in peril."
I know this first hand. When I was a child, my entire community was branded as spies and sabateurs, justifying our internment inside barbed wire camps for years without due process, trial or charge.
I celebrate the 80% of Germans who did not vote for the far right. Do not make 19.6% of German voters into "the" German people (again).
"The" German people don't exist! The German population is diverse and divided, but voted overwhelmingly for liberal democratic parties.

Raise your hand if, as a tenor ina choir where descants were for sopranos only, you still sang this descant….🙋🏻♂️
Shades of Pinkham already!
And the organ just foreshadowed THE CHORD
And Basses had their pre-service sherry for that final chord
Dear musician friends, My PhD student, Aliya, is doing a survey asking musicians to describe how they use imagining music in their heads in their work. It will likely take you less than 20 minutes, and you can win an Amazon voucher. Thanks in advance! durhamuniversity.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...
