Most museums that I know are underfunded and struggle to keep up with preparing new specimens for collections. Not many folks are learning how to prep specimens so hard to find expertise.

We have sent birds to the Manitoba Museum and I think CMN still add birds. In both cases they are from window collisions or other “natural” mortality but typically not active collections.
