Sorry just frustrating watching econimists walk outside, say the sky is blue and ferociously stick each other off over it. Meanwhile folks writing policy turn to them as some sort of oracle.

And they still don't get the full picture. They lost the major reasons for not wanting to leave a job as brand loyalty or a master of convenience.

Have you considered that health insurance is attached to the job? That interrupting it to find another job could be disastrous for them or their family?

I'm begging economists, talk to people, study history, challenge the bs they spoomfeed you in econ101. This is all shit anyone that's worked under the economy has already understood for ages!

Want to lighten your mental load? First, let go of these gender myths "Men can't see the mess." "Women are better at chores." These myths position women to take on more emotional thinking, says researcher Leah Ruppanner. She shares what works to reclaim your headspace.

Digital illustration. No AI used. Black background. Female demon, or Grim Reaper. Silver hair, silver horns, black wings, white gauntlets. Lifting a skeleton with a saber.

Its not a hot take but man the way the word "content" is used these days. A vile bit of late stage capitalist propaganda, lumping all forms of human creativity and expression into a single wastebin teaching the public to treat all art as disposable.

Ultimately Silicon Valley’s fatal flaw is that it has a glut of losers in a loser echo chamber and they have no idea why nobody else thinks their ideas are good and fun

Well, well, it's #portfolioday already? I just got back home from a trip, so I'm out of the loop. However, if you like fantastical landscapes, then I got some for you! I'm mostly working for MTG and D&D these days.

A scene from in the VIP pit of a Lancer mech duel in the Grand Arena of Throne Karrakis. Colorful pennants sway in the breeze high above the stadium. Huge shades that look like translucent petals shade the spectators, seated in the sandy white gallery stands. The architecture flows and curves rather than being rectilinear or purely circular. Pointed archways from the main arcade level. Ornate fluorescent light chandeliers light up the shaded stands. On the Field, a massive black Lancer frame lunges forward with a black broadsword, boosted forward with back-mounted rockets. A red ponytail flows from its helm. Parrying the blow in a shower of sparks is a sage green Lancer frame with a curved scimitar-like sword. It pirouettes on digitigrade legs, its blue cape tails swirling in the arena dust. It is adorned with golden filigree. In the pit, two factions face off, each representing their frame in demeanor and attire. On the left, matched with the black knight mecha, a cadre of nobles (perhaps from the House of Stone), all in black and red and metal and furs, stand haughtily. The main one raises her whiskey glass in smug superiority. She has dark skin and an undercut hairstyle of red hair. Next to her is an older man, bald and bearded, with dark skin and a grumpy expression. On the right, representing perhaps the House of Glass, a rakish young noble lifts his wine glass in mocking salute. He has twin swords on his belt and an orange cape. Next to him is a beautiful noblewoman in a dress covered in rose-like flowers. a chain veil covers her face. Behind them, vidscreens show alternate angles of the mech duel, including shots from the cockpits of each frame, showing the determination and effort of each Lancer that pilots them.

a lancer frame in a Karrakin Trade Barony noble house. Its kneeling on a plinth, against a backdrop of a golden relief mural of the Baronic families history. Its sword is emblazoned with the quote: "Do not wield me without reason, nor sheathe me without honor." In front, the royal scions play with a ball, running past it. Their worried nursemaids and a nanny drone follow the children in a panic.

Yeah it's tricky because it's not like there's a meter for executive function and focus. Like it would be nice if I could directly measure how much my symptoms are being impacted by various things

There’s a wave of attacks on the ruling class People have reached a breaking point. American consumer sentiment is terrible, registering at the lowest level ever recorded this week. Gas prices just jumped more in March than they have in any month...

Warehouses on fire, Molotov thrown at Sam Altman’s house, a data center supporting politician’s home shot at — attacks on the ruling class have begun.

Every attacker will now be deemed a terrorist, that’s inevitable.

But what the ruling class doesn’t want you to know is they made this inevitable.

"sex doesn't belong in YA books"

Listen, I learned more about birth control, menstruation, and how to get and give consent to different acts from Tamora Pierce books than I did from my school. There's a huge difference between smut and showing teens what healthy sexuality is.

As in, interact with the work a little bit, take your time with it.

The point is to juxtapose it with consumerism which is a mindlessly shoveling of 'content' into your mouth. Caring less about the qualities of the work so long as there enough that you never need stop consuming.
