The Security Blindspot: Cascading climate impacts and tipping points threaten national security โ€” Strategic Climate Risk Initiative Cascading climate impacts and tipping points threaten national security.

13/ What can you do?

- Read the @climate-risk.bsky.social report on why this is a security blind spot, and share it!

- Write to your political representatives. This belongs at the top of climate risk agendas, not a footnote.

- Talk about it. Awareness is shockingly low.

Gotta laugh at how CNBC uses a picture of Trump looking like a cheesy villain out of 1950s comic books.

What would his Dick Tracy name be? Cheesy Mac? Comb-over Bone-Spurs?

The victory in Virginia tonight reminds us that the people will defend democracy.

Virginians who care about fairness didnโ€™t just win an election โ€“ they have stopped Trumpโ€™s attempt to steal the 2026 midterms.

A message to the White House: We will fight everywhere.ย And win.

Yep.

Well, Trump said he likes to surround himself with losers because it makes him feel better about himself.

Trump does not fail because he is unlucky. He fails because he cannot do the job. The presidency has a learning curve. He never climbed it. He just renamed the failures as wins.

A Beacon of Hope in the Fight Against Hate and Extremism
A Beacon of Hope in the Fight Against Hate and Extremism YouTube video by Southern Poverty Law Center

Lemme get this straight

A civil rights group is being criminally charged for paying informants to get info about the KKK & neo-Nazis that was then shared with law enforcement?

That's basically what the FBI does!

Should they prosecute themselves?

Seems the Iranians knew Trump was very likely to order more attack no matter what they agreed to, just like he did in March and last year.

They know negotiations, agreements, treaties, contacts, and alliances mean nothing to Trump.

Except for his alliance with Putin. He likes that one.

For my own wellbeing, sometimes it's best to completely ignore harsh reality & focus exclusively on one or all of our 3 pets.

In this case it's our youngest, Trixie (a/k/a Bat-Mite, a/k/a Spawn of Satan), who I love dearly. โ™ฅ๏ธ ๐Ÿถ

Hegseth sneered about the military's logistical experts, and now he's got ships stuck with sailors almost starving on them.

But he's still sure the dismissive attitude about the flu won't come back to bite him.

Consumers? Crickets. No refunds for the working families who actually footed the bill.
Classic MAGA: socialism for big business, rugged individualism for the rest of us.
This is corporate welfare on steroids while you eat the inflation. Disgusting.

There's no other way to say it: This AP-NORC poll is atrocious for Trump.

Let's sum up Trump's tariffs.

1) They were illegal and also corrupt and arbitrary.
2) They did real damage to economy, esp farmers, small business.
3) Lutnick cheerled them while his spawn prepared to $$.
4) Corps (& some small businesses) finally getting refunds.
5) Consumers will get squat.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

I have always been a big fan of Tim Cook, and likewise, Steve Jobs, but if Steve was not taken from the Planet Earth so young, and ran the company instead of Tim, the company would have done well, but nowhere near as well as it has under Tim. For me it began with a phone call from Tim at the beginning of my First Term. He had a fairly large problem that only I, as President, could fix. Most people would have paid millions of dollars to a consultant, who I probably would not have known, but who would say that he knew me well. The fees would be paid but the job would not have gotten done. When I got the call I said, wow, itโ€™s Tim Apple (Cook!) calling, how big is that? I was very impressed with myself to have the head of Apple calling to โ€œkiss my ass.โ€ Anyway, he explained his problem, a tough one it was, I felt he was right and got it taken care of, quickly and effectively. That was the beginning of a long and very nice relationship. During my five years as President, Tim would call me, but never too much, and I would help him where I could. Years latter, after 3 or 4 BIG HELPS, I started to say to people, anyone who would listen, that this guy is an amazing manager and leader. He makes these calls to me, I help him out (but not always, because he will, on occasion, be too aggressive in his ask!), and he gets the job done, QUICKLY, without a dime being given to those very expensive (millions of dollars!) consultants around town who sometimes get it done, and sometimes donโ€™t. Anyway, Tim Cook had an AMAZING career, almost incomparable, and will go on and continue to do great work for Apple, and whatever else he chooses to work on. Quite simply, Tim Cook is an incredible guy!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Here's Trump encouraging business execs to "kiss my ass" in order to get special favors from his government. He doesn't even bother trying to hide the rampant corruption.

Trump never works, there are no โ€˜policy meetingsโ€™ he snorts Adderall in the morning & watches TV, does a phoner w/supplicant press and then hands out a trophy in late afternoon. Itโ€™s adult day care for a drug addict. Weekends he golfs in Palm Beach.
