Aileen's is a peer-led community organizing and hospitality space by and for women working along the Pacific Highway in south King County, Washington. Like millions of Americans, our women and their children are worried and scared about the coming food crisis as SNAP benefits are suspended amid government shutdown.

When COVID lockdown resulted in massive loss of access to food and services in 2020, peer leaders of Aileen's came forward to distribute food and other necessities out of a parking lot for folks in need. We will begin handing out gift cards to grocery stores starting Nov. Ist, but will switch to running our own pantry and/or preparing food ourselves as well if the situation persists beyond a couple of weeks. WINTER DONATION DRIVE OCTOBER 21 - NOVEMBER 7 As cold and rainy weather returns, GWSS is organizing a fall donation drive to support a hospitality space for women in the South Sound that provides showers, hygiene and harm reduction supplies, and a warm place to hang out and find community. We're collecting new and gently used cute and cozy winter clothes, coats, shoes and boots, blankets, and tents — anything that can help women and gender-diverse people stay warm, dry, and comfortable through the season. • Donation Period: October 21 - November 7 • Drop-Off Location: GWSS Main Office, Padelford Hall, B110 All items will be delivered directly to the hospitality space shortly after the drive ends, ensuring they reach people as the weather turns colder.
