sincerely feels like a character writing regression from daybreak to horizon like they were both interesting characters with their own struggles. agnes immediately loses it all to become "i HAVE to do everything for van he is all that matters in this world" like god. that's not who you WERE

going back to finish up daybreak after horizon is so absurd tbh. i can see the reasons why i actually liked agnes in db1, she was sincerely quite a nicely written character back then who was a little shy and awkward but overall caring. and then they promptly killed her and elaine's personality

getting the reverie ending olivierufus brainworms again. The way olivier calls him "sunshine" so fondly once he wakes up. Rufus assuming that he'd escaped death only to be given the death penalty again (likely, according to olivier's speech)(he probably wouldve accepted to atone for it).

sure part of it has to be due to his personality that's more playful in nature alongside the cold and calculating part, but it's still pretty surprising... i Need to know what happened to early life Rufus. baby Rufus. Rufus alone and scared and still the slightly psychopathic kid he is

no doubt plenty of people would disagree me calling him an Upstanding man but i'm just saying, growing up in that environment would've been the typical villain basis of turning bitter and cold and cruel, but under all the layers he's actually quite capable of being kind and caring. which is crazy

i think a lot about young rufus sometimes and i mean Young Rufus Pre-Thors Rufus because i think it's crazy that Rufus grew up basically all alone with that duke and no other parental figures (no doubt arnauld was kindest to him. but still) and is still a upstanding man

it kind of amazes me how rufus turned out like this. and i mean Like This as in an actually nice guy. yeah sure he mightve been the governor-general of crossbell but he's not a necessarily cruel person, nor does he particularly delight in hurting others
