The U.S. government knows that Iran has ports on the other side of the strait, right?
So Trump just announced a...blockade of a blockade.
"Effective immediately, the United States Navy will begin the process of BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz. "
I wonder how oil futures will feel.

I bring you, the latest Washington Post editorial.
It argues:
1. U.S. has too much debt, and sacrifices will be required.
2. But not the $1.5 trillion defense budget which is awesome.
3. AI could solve everything so long as it's not "throttled."

🧵Missed diagnoses, delayed treatment and poor medical care are driving record deaths in ICE custody.
@kolyncheang.bsky.social and I spent months investigating the deaths of ICE detainees across the US. Over and over again, we found lapses in treatment that proved fatal.
ICE agents shot another driver -- on Tues.
He had just asked to call his wife.
They shot him six times. One bullet his jaw.
Now he can't speak and has been mostly unconscious.

💢 Israeli strike kills Lebanese radio journalist in her home, Committee to Protect Journalists reports Ghada Dayekh, a presenter with privately owned Sawt Al-Farah radio, was killed when an Israeli airstrike hit her apartment building in the southern coastal city of Tyre, destroying it, according to the outlet’s director. Dayekh had worked at the station for decades and had been on air for 37 years. CPJ said her killing reflects a “continued pattern of harm against the press.” Her killing brings the number of journalists killed in Lebanon during the current conflict to six, including Mohammed Sherri, Hussain Hamood, Ali Shoaib, Fatima Ftouni, and Mohamad Ftouni. At least eight journalists have been killed since the Iran war began on February 28, according to CPJ.
