The action’s a bit quieter, but the writing’s more mature—and full of the tropes we otaku adore.

It’s super old school and super VN-formatted. I liked it a lot. @khakibluesocks.bsky.social just found it boring, though haha. The ratings have been really low but I wonder if it’s b/c viewers now don’t really know Key.

I dunno…episode one of Summer Pockets felt pretty charming to me. Even if it plays like a “generic Key-type series” rather than the real deal, I’ll happily take this over another Day I Became a God. VERY happily.

We ended up writing like four deep dives on the show—and still have more to say. There's so much richness in it and its themes. It's exciting to me when an original anime is willing to tell a story with depth like this. SO GOOD.
