I’ve really come around to loving Johnny Craig. The fact that he often wrote and edited his own work gives it a slightly different flavor than other EC stuff.
He’s my least favorite of the core group of EC artists. But that shouldn’t be taken to mean I don’t love his work! Just that somebody has to come in last place.
I’ve only got one of those. I think it’s Terror.
Oh yeah, of course. But wasn’t a lot of Craig’s output in the pre-Trend era? In other words, why aren’t there more volumes of Craig in the Fantagraphics library? Only 4 i think, compared to Kamen’s 6?
I’ve only got one of these (Three For The Money). Am I correct in guessing he was the most prolific of all the EC artists?
I have those.

Started reading this one yesterday. Great so far!
I’m sorry, as an old comics nerd, I can’t be too above it all or jaded to not be insanely stoked that there’s gonna be a movie where the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men fight Doctor Doom. We all live in Hell, so let me enjoy this you cynical fucks.
It’s fun!
😁
I’ll do my best!

Tales Of Suspense no. 37 (Jan 1963) splash by Steve Ditko. The 2nd Ditko story this issue, an unexpected treat. That’s all for comics posts from me for the time being. Shifting into tour mode (first show is tonight). I’ll still be around though.
