Fab way to finish my birthday weekend, Gareth Lockrane Big Band, jazz funk from some of London’s finest players 🎷🎉
Beautiful music and the story of making the music, what a lovely physical music package from Fergus McCreadie #TheShieling
Also undone lots of setting changes, now my watch is shouting at me during workouts (through my steamed hearing aids). Had to turn off announcements notifications in 3 different places to stop it. Epic design fail 😡
Is it just me or is iOS26 a step back to the 90s? Everything seems to be harder to do and the ‘glass’ look is tacky and dated 📱
Fab gig Lael Neale at The Ivy House supported by Alice Costelloe @ivyhousenunhead.bsky.social
8 performers standing on a dark stage with focused spotlights, at the end of performance, one holds a cello, one is behind transparent screens with lots of drums and percussion instruments. The audience in the foreground are standing and applauding.
London Sinfonietta & Marius Neset this Thursday - absolutely knockout. Neset's piece 'Changes' was one of the best things I have experienced this year. The London Sinfonietta played their socks off! www.southbankcentre.co.uk/whats-on/lon...
Fabulous evening at Ronnie’s with the beautiful soul and voice that is Jazzmeia Horn 🤩
Fantastic concert at @woolwichworks.bsky.social celebrating 60 years of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra NYJO with Olivia Cuttill's arrangements of Fodder on My Wings by Nina Simone. Culminating in a joyous performance of Colour is a Beautiful Thing 👏

Performance space with black walls and light wood ceiling baffles, containing a grand piano, monitors, and bamboo and saxophones along the walls.
Amazing visit to Dawkes Music yesterday. An opportunity to play test some amazing tenor saxes including a Selmer Mark VI with the expert help of Sam Gregory. The workshop is truly impressive, there's even a performance space with a bar. Saxophone heaven 🎷 (I believe they also have other things 😉 )
Such fun to record, love the artwork 🤩
So beautiful and calming 🌳🎵🍃 🎹 🧘🏻♀️

An orchestra of lots of saxophone players of all ages wearing Saxophone Orchestra T-shirts playing in the concert hall at the Royal Northern College of Music conducted by a lady, Saira Clegg, wearing colourful flowery trousers.
Such a pleasure to be at the 25th RNCM Saxophone Day on Sunday. Huge congratulations to Andy Scott, staff and students for such an amazing day. It brings joy to my heart to see the saxophone community that continues to flourish around RNCM nourished by events like this! @rncmlive.bsky.social
Kicked off the day with an arrangement of The Logical Song with over 200 saxophones and John Helliwell who recorded the original sax solo (in a toilet), and it wasn’t even lunchtime! So much more to come! #RNCMSaxophoneDay - @rncmlive.bsky.social Royal Northern College of Music
Delighted to be playing with Secret Life Quartet in Leytonstone this weekend, after a pesky rainstorm scuppered our slot during the Leytonstone Festival. Busking outside Stone Mini Market on Saturday on the High Road E11 4RD between 2-4pm. Come and say hi 👋 🎷🎶
Thursday night playing bari sax with The John Ongom Big Band, Friday night covering alto sax at Archway Big Band, Saturday morning covering bari at Morley Jazz Orchestra. Phew, and it's only just the weekend! 😊🎷
Love this time of year in the City 🌸
What a lovely way to finish this beautiful series and celebrate the writer, Meic Povey, who died in 2017 www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...
I’ve been feeling very down about world events. This made me feel a bit better, someone with the capacity to break through the media noise and remind us that you can still do something, no matter how desperate it might seem m.youtube.com/watch?v=vHH-...
A sad day, the final ‘spinal column’, but what a splendid end. Melanie Reid kept me going through some of my own dark times. I’ll miss her, but hope this next chapter in her life is as full of fun, triumph and grace, even if we don’t get to hear about it anymore. www.thetimes.com/article/1a37...

Song Yi Jeon with Dianne Reeves. Just wow 🤩 From a contemporary trio to a full on explosion of jazz and Korean percussion. Voice as a digital instrument and in improvisation. Powerful stuff! #wearejazz
I love the rabbit holes I fall down when researching stuff for my volunteering with the EFG London Jazz Festival. This is amazing! Looking forward to seeing Dianne Reeves tomorrow #wearejazz youtu.be/A-4ld26VfdU?...
