Donated 79.76 (plus processing) to remind bearcat fans that even in our worst season in decades they couldn't beat Xavier. Go PTKU! @shutdownfullcast.bsky.social

Of course it was a Dominican. We should’ve sent a Jesuit SWAT team to bully him back to the big tent Baptists
St. Gertrude got weirdly conservative in the 2010s. I did my k-8 education there decades ago and I wouldn't send my kids there now.
Also, we need to fundamentally and practically reject the premise that university access is zero sum. We can and should continue to expand universities and ensure the limit is based on ability and interest, not physical seats.
As I have often said, they don’t think we count, we’re just useful for now
He's a suis generous brand, not really a person, in most people's minds. Supporters and critical alike.
I think a lot of establishment Dems are severely underestimating just how much the general public is done with their shit

Can we get 10,000 RTs for this
Ok by the transitive property then is Nashville a Tampa?
The king of the hill "if those kids could read" meme about car dealerships
Turns out helium is suddenly at risk? It's gonna be fun all around
We should have a new rule that schools need to avoid felony indictments to make the NCAAT. It's probably a low bar, but oddly Nate Oats teams couldn't clear it...
Happy for Travis Steele and this Redhawks team to get an NCAA win after such a great season - This kind of story is what makes this sport so much fun
I would be fascinated to read a well-sourced breakdown of the motivating issues for elites that are otherwise low salience, both within and across parties
I was gonna say, that wikipedia entry has several paragraphs across multiple years.
He is a Butler alumnus, but yeah I don't think he was a student manager or anything while he was there.
Jokes aside, to jump back up to the Big East I think Steele needs more than one hot season in the MAC. He might be able to jump to the A10 which would be a good proving ground for him.
They got Travis Steele's contract details sorted smh
If I become a billionaire, I'll obviously pump money into men's basketball. As a side quest, though, I'd also try to see how many esoteric sports we could win natties in. Get ready for your Curling National Champion Musketeers
And I couldn't agree more about zoning reform.
Agree 100%. Tourism should be used as a strategy to raise the profile of the city to attract employers, enhance the universities (Sac State and Davis) and make the whole community more vibrant for everyone, not as an end to itself.
How we best develop and support that industry is certainly an open question, and I really do believe turning the best neighborhoods into Airbnb communities is not the answer. This city has a lot to show off! Awesome food, wine, and beer, great proximity to nature, sunshine, etc
I certainly agree more demand on the same supply will raise prices, my point is just that in Sacramento it's very likely quite small and clustered in areas that are already wealthy.
Broadly, Sac needs more tourism to raise the profile of the city and diversify from being a Government town.
As mentioned above, the short term rental inventory in Sacramento is actually quite small, so while there are impacts in these neighborhoods it's minimal overall. People staying in these can definitely be rude and obnoxious, though, and that nuisance is very likely the true driver here.
I live in Sacramento. Airbnbs are certainly more common in the dense, walkable neighborhoods like Midtown, Land Park, and Curtis Park. These are not generally working class areas anymore, and tend to attract young professionals and high income families.
If you told me at the beginning of the season we'd win the crosstown shootout, split the series with Butler, avoid the 11 seed at MSG, and get a win there I would have taken it in a heat beat. The progress and heart of this team have been fun to watch. Looking forward to watching this team next year
