Social Security would be solvent through the next 75 year viewing window if we did two things: 1) remove the income cap for paying in, and 2) limit the amount coming out to the paid in amount only for those making more than ~$250k from other sources.

in FY24, we spent 27.6% of US revenues (ex SS and Med-A which have their own rev sources) on INTEREST alone. We had a $1.8 Trillion deficit and same in 2025. If Trump doesn't kill us the interest will.
After-tax money market and savings rates net you less than inflation. You lose purchasing power every year. Rates should be higher, not lower if we want people to save since social security is going broke.
