The government has published no evidence to suggest that cutting disability benefits will get people back to work.

The evidence it has published found that these cuts would plunge hundreds of thousands of people into poverty.

I’m joining @trusselluk.bsky.social in calling on the gov’t to rethink

Lab Leak: The True Origins of Covid-19 THE ORIGIN “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2” publication — which was used repeatedly by public health officials and the media to discredit the lab leak

Fact-checking the White House's "Lab Leak" page: Some claims plausible but unproven, others misleading. Stronger evidence supports natural COVID-19 origin, but transparency issues persist. Science, not politics, should guide the debate. www.whitehouse.gov/lab-leak-tru...

We just published a new study on COVID-19 in Ontario, and it turns out, the way we measured cases may have been way off.

Why? Because testing wasn’t equal across age and sex groups. That skews what we think we know. In epi-speak this is called “ascertainment bias”.

Here's what we found:

How denial of airborne COVID transmission broke the world - Healthy Debate Five years later, the greatest basic science failure in generations caused the pandemic harms highlighted by people across the political spectrum, and broke our social cohesion.

Five years on and we’re still going round and round with whether Covid is airborne. There’s no scientific doubt. Denial broke us.

If the richest 1% lost 99% of all their wealth right now, they'd still be richer than 99% of us.
Tax the rich.

Bergen-Belsen memorial with inscription: Bergen-Belsen 1940-1945

Bergen-Belsen memorial with inscription: Bergen-Belsen 1940-1945

Today we mark 80 years since the liberation of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, one of the most notorious sites of Nazi-inflicted suffering in the Holocaust.

The British Army liberated the camp, and Canadian troops helped to evacuate the survivors.

Germany will never forget.

Suggesting the world is “post COVID” contributes to an unwitting shift in research priorities

We don’t say ‘post HIV’ or ‘post Ebola’, so why are people saying ‘post COVID’? COVID is running rampant due to apathy, ignorance and complacency on the part of governments, public health and healthcare systems

Doctors urge government to fight poverty after rise in patients with Victorian diseases Survey finds vast majority of doctors are concerned at impact of health inequalities on their patients

Victorian diseases erysipelas and scabies return to the UK.

Poverty, malnutrition, poor housing are the main causes.

Govt response - benefit cuts for poor/disabled, two-child benefit cap, winter fuel payment cut, freeze tax thresholds.

NHS queues, can't see GPs.

Must redistribute.

The DOW dropped 1,500 points this morning.

Remember when Republicans would be screaming bloody murder on fox news because Obama wore a tan suit?

It's crazy how proud of being uneducated and hypocritical Republicans are now.
