In the neoliberal age, governments no longer concern themselves with caring for citizens directly… our public services are simply tendered out to the lowest bidder. Maybe someday we’ll get over this barbaric profit-seeking system.
Honestly, the Furey government has absolutely broken the University with hairbrained schemes designed to make Furey budgets look better. That was it. That was the whole point.
The unwillingness to move on and fix what they did is going to cost them.

I wouldn’t even be mad at an increase in taxes if they were funding more stuff like this! More metro bus, more housing, snow clearing on Kelly’s brook. All great stuff!
