#Green transitions are billed as fair and forward-looking.
But as @suyashjolly.bsky.social, Asheim, @maximilianbenner.bsky.social, @giuseppecalignano.bsky.social, Eadson, Gong & @trondnilsen1976.bsky.social warn, #transitions stripped of justice breed resistance, not renewal.

In search of a ‘Geography of Youth’: Why young people should matter more in local and regional development studies - Giuseppe Calignano, Luca De Siena, 2025 The topic of human agency is currently at the top of the agenda of scholars interested in local and regional development dynamics. This still new, yet well-deve...

I listened to this and all the other songs available on Soundcloud. I really like your guitar style and your songwriting! I think we have some similar influences and something to talk about. 😉 I would be happy to continue our correspondence elsewhere. I'm sending you an e-mail, ok? 🙂

Megaprojects can be symbols of imagined futures, as well as controversies, in regional development.

The reasons? (I) technology and greening, (II) geography and scale, and (III) the geopolitical situation.

Small towns play a key role as agents of regional development. Are they catalysts for the growth of their hinterland or do they soak up resources and talent from surrounding towns and villages? Both, but the story is more complex than it seems. Check out my recent article with the great Atle Hauge.

... And yes, using social network analysis to study how power relations shape regional development paths is brilliant advice! Let me know if you are interested in exploring this possibility. 😉

Hi! Yes, as @atlejh.bsky.social said I particularly focused on whether EU research and innovation networks can promote knowledge exchange, sustainable paths, re-industrialization or path upgrading in a single country (Italy) or in EU regions across Europe. You can take a look here:
