The progression has definitely developed naturally with time and with all the drawings you’ve made of Frida and Emma, and their dynamic compliments them nicely. And I’m happy that you’re happy with the direction they’ve gone in too!
I mainly see Frida and Emma as the embodiment of what a loving relationship should look like, with Frida being the happy and positive sweetheart that puts everyone in a good mood and Emma being the strong and chill intellectual who still has a soft side and wants what’s best for others.
