One of these influencers, conspiracy theorist Daniel Gugger from Switzerland, told me that the Storm-1516 stories he shared were sent to him by a “Brazilian journalist” - turns out: it’s Raphael Machado. Gugger claims he thought the stories were true.

Machado has been spreading several Storm-1526 campaigns in the past. A few weeks ago, Nova Resistência published a totally fake story about Germany funding a football stadium in Brazil. It was disseminated by the same influencer bubble that spreads Storm-1516 content on X.

Machado frames himself as a geopolitical analyst. He is the leader - together with Lucas Leiroz - of the Brazilian neo-fascist organization Nova Resistência. He is a fan of Russian philosopher Aleksandr Dugin, who, with his Center for Geopolitical Expertise, is said to be involved in Storm-1516.

I would like to briefly introduce you to Raphael Machado, a pro-Russian propagandist who apparently works for several disinformation campaigns - it looks like he’s in a coordinating role for both Doppelganger and Storm-1516.
