The journey to Middle-earth and understanding J. R. R. Tolkien begins inside Marquette University's archives, which has more than 11,000 pages of drafts for The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
Just discovered there is a new series of Mrs Brown's Boys this Friday. It genuinely baffled me that a) this show continues to get commissioned and b) people watch it.
I'm very much looking forward to this book! I said to @dimitrafimi.bsky.social recently how I regard it as an essential purchase. 😊

Advice to companies: don't use #tolkienreadingday as the date of your big #Tolkien/#LOTR announcement. Everyone tries it and they all just get lost in the noise. Pick a different date when you know you'll be able to command more attention.
It is no exaggeration to say that joining the Society 20 years ago, and being the chair for the last 12 years, has changed my life. You could join, and maybe it'll change yours too.
