Happy spring birding season to all who celebrate from Patterson Park in Baltimore. ❤️🐦⬛🌳👀
The silver lining is today it's easier to answer the morning "How are you?" A simple "Better than the stock market" suffices.

Had enough of watching overpaid men pushing people around and got a ticket to support the local arts instead. I laughed. I cried. I held my friend’s hand. I marveled, as always, at Everyman’s sets. I ❤️ you, Baltimore.
Wild to wake up to the news that firearms shouldn't be regulated but straws should.

"CA has almost 8 million more residents than TX. But a KERA analysis of homicide data documented 44 confirmed intimate partner homicides in CA that were committed with a firearm in '23, according to CA's dept of justice. TX had 142 that same year, according to the TX Council on Family Violence."
"January: rethink your food Start the year by focusing on what you eat. Agriculture accounts for a significant portion of greenhouse gas emissions so even small shifts – like cutting back on meat some days – can help. Eating local food that’s in season supports small farmers and reduces the carbon footprint of imported produce. It’s a win-win that will have an immediate and positive impact on your health and the pockets of small, organic farmers. Also think about how you store your fresh produce and consider where your scraps end up. If global food waste were a country, it would be the third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases. Composting cuts methane emissions from landfills and turns waste into nutrient-rich soil."
This @theguardian.com piece is great - twelve personal resolutions, one per month, to help the climate - starting with rethinking your food. The alt text contains the full text for January.
