Discovering Autism at 50 My Journey to Late Diagnosis and Self-Acceptance

Excited to be sharing my first Substack article. It’s taken me a while to find the right words as it’s a subject close to my heart: autism & late diagnosis. I hope it resonates with others who’ve had similar journeys!

This is thuggery from Trump and Vance, plain and simple.

They are bullying the brave true patriot Zelensky into accepting a deal which effectively hands victory to Russia. Unless the UK and Europe step up, we are facing a betrayal of Ukraine.

I was hopeful about Bluesky, but the Syrian Revolution & Trump’s betrayal of Ukraine have changed my mind. Despite Elon’s depravity, Twitter is where the urgent stuff is happening. While here people silo themselves with blocklists like twee survivalists. It’s grim & depressing.

Just last week someone told me Trump would never shut down USAID because it buys so much US grain and I said, "I wonder if he knows that"

A large Sainsbury’s Store Front with the signs for the other shops laid out underneath. They are Argos Habitat Tu. sounds a bit Latin dunnit. lol eh

The fact they left out Specsavers leads me to think they knew what they were doing, and I’m probably just explaining their own joke to them

Canadians join the fight against Los Angeles-area wildfires

Canadians helping fight the LA wildfires despite Donald Trump threatening to annexe Canada is somehow extremely Canadian and I love it www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7426060

The US won’t invade Greenland.
But Trump may inspire Putin to have a little fun in Estonia while we are all too busy to get our act together, glued to our phones, waiting what kind of crazy thing the US President may say next.

Interesting. Macron is heading to London tomorrow evening for a working dinner with Starmer, focused on joint support for 🇺🇦 (as well as bilateral and 🇬🇧 🇪🇺 issues). This fits a consistent pattern of trying to bind the 🇬🇧 into European security efforts

A brimming biscuit tin and a warm welcome – this is how an Englishman found his home in Wales | Will Hayward I’d moved around many places but never found the place that spoke to my heart. In Wales, I felt I’d met a friend, says Guardian columnist Will Hayward

“The feeling of being Welsh (as opposed to British) is rapidly increasing. Wales is, slowly but surely, asserting itself.”

What’s occurrin’? Gavin & Stacey has breathed new life into my hometown | Simon Price The Barry I grew up in was a far cry from its peak as a thriving coal port then a holiday destination. It took an unassuming sitcom to give it a lifeline, says music journalist and author Simon Price

I wrote a piece for @theguardian.com about what Gavin & Stacey has done for Barry, and that weird feeling when nobody's heard of your home town then suddenly EVERYBODY'S heard of your home town. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
