I have it. Gave up reading it

Good question. Don't know enough on Marlborough to judge
New purchase from Pen and Sword
Currently reading
I've seen the quote "This is a man with whom I shall have to deal", attributed to Napoleon about Wellesley after the news of Assaye.
I haven't seen it in the correspondence of that time that ive looked into, anyone know where it may be found, if there is concrete evidence?
He was a great singer. Surprisingly huge in Germany where he released albums of all German songs
Purchased today
No. I'll try and remember to get it
Best book I've read this year so far
Hated it first time. Didn't like it on second viewing, but wasn't as awful as I'd remembered
I saw him live about ten years ago; brilliant. I'm very sad he's passed
A recent Australian book on Confederate Albert Sidney Johnston. Either very underrated, or overrated, depending who you ask.
Could be an interesting read

'The Godfather,' 'M*A*S*H,' and 'Tender Mercies' star Robert Duvall passed away at home at age 95, "surrounded by love and comfort"
Appearing on Amazon it seems; again, I am at present not involved in any marketing, and don't intend these posts to be that. I don't even have an account on Amazon for it to belong to, so some other chap can get the praise (or criticism!)

Enjoying this book
The full transcript of Wellington's work is in it, as I thought that very important that it should be in print.
Also has a "commentary" by me, as each time I read it I noticed more and more interesting parts that I felt needed explaining
I look forward to reading it then
Appears my book is online. I've not yet been sent any marketing information/material, so I don't plan to advertise it yet - I'd tell everyone to wait until Pen and Sword announce it. But, if anyone wants to read the synopsis, it is here.

He better have been a friend, otherwise I feel I've been missold this book!
It's a quote from O'Meara. Described Suchet, Clauzel and Gérard as his best generals. Suchet was already a Marshal
That it was poor from the start
Las Cases quoted him as saying Foy, Lamarque, Clauzel and Gérard were his "new marshals". But all those St Helena ramblings have to be treated carefully
I've one too.
Actually I'd wait until it's on Pen and Sword. I've not been sent the marketing stuff, but apparently it is appearing online now

More in my attempt to build up collection of memoirs.
The Napoleon and Joseph correspondence is great, and I'm hoping will help in a project I'm planning
Four years ago today, we lost the supremely talented Meat Loaf (Michael Lee Aday). He was 74 years old. I saw him three times in concert in Birmingham - more than I've seen any other artist. He was unbelievable live. Especially when performing 'Paradise By the dashboard Light". #MeatLoaf
Glad to hear you're recovering
Some more memoirs
Trying to get some Napoleonic memoirs. 4,5,7 and the atlas for Massena are on order, so just need 6.
Can't find the other 7 of Marmont I need in this set though
Paul Scofield. A great actor

I was struck by how the ground the union was on was higher, so they'd be pouring a fire down into it, making it like a death trap
