Since the game is free and the genre is niche I expected it to be seen by people outside my target audience, I just hoped the first negative review would come much much later 😅

The weight of parenthood

Went to a chess tournament thinking it would be the usual people, just to get my FIDE rating for blitz. It turned out to be of a much higher level, there was even a GM playing. Got kicked in the ass.

But if my calculations are correct I'll be rated 1609, which is good for me.

Playing around with Popochiu because I'm really fed up with Unity. The fact that it's inspired by PowerQuest is a plus - I love that framework. If I manage to get my "force look first" thing going, I might really consider switching.

A great old school game. And by that I mean one that makes your brain hurt and keeps you stuck for days. We need more of that!

At work we had some interviews for an internship in our team. It felt SO WEIRD to be on the other side of the interviewing process.

However, I really don't like GDScript, so I'm thinking of switching to C# on Godot, even though my original idea was to make one from scratch in C++ 😅

Now that Jampilation is out I might as well take a better look at Popochiu.

I'm gonna miss PowerQuest so much, but I'm starting to be really fed up with Unity.

I'd actually love to make my own framework on Godot, but why reinvent the wheel?

The 30th of March has a great symbolic value for me. It's Thimbleweed Park's release date, so I released also Kill Yourself and the unofficial Thimbleweed Park Italian dub package on this date.

Last minute panic is the source of my powers!

Two days until I release Adventure Jampilation and of course I'm finding more bugs. And of course it's always Nebraska Smith.

My 10yo daughter keeps saying "that's AI" in a disgusted tone whenever she sees AI images somewhere.

I'm glad she can 1) easily spot them and 2) feels the need to tell everyone how much they suck.

I hope this is the first sign of the bubble bursting.

I want to see the reaction of those who claimed that AI was going to "democratize art".

At work we had a training session on AI tools 🙄 I get it, fear of missing out. However: I've been asked if I use AI tools in my gamedev projects.

My reply? It's something I do for my own enjoyment, where's the fun if I let a machine draw or write or make music for me?

Only 7 days before I release (same date as my first game and also Thimbleweed Park), I think I fixed the last bugs and everything's ready.

Can't wait!

I'm at 5, which is surprising. I mean, depending on what you mean by "modest", I surely can't live off my games, but I can enjoy a nice vacation once in a while.
