And let me tell you, never have I ever in my life seen someone become the most hated person on a single website in a matter of hours, and I was on tumblr and youtube during its PRIME.

The guy's dataset had four different DMCA strikes the next day, and thankfully it's been down since then. 4/?

So... The guy who decided to scrape that much history and that many of people's private moments for training AI. I don't think they were really aware of any of that.

Naturally, pretty much the ENTIRE userbase was aware in a matter of hours, mostly thanks to @sufferingpride.bsky.social ! 3/?

For the uninitiated: Paintberri itself has a bunch of users that used an even older site known as Tegaki E. With that said, there are plenty of us that have been friends or at least been aware of each other for decades. We've more or less chosen to grow up together. EXTREMELY tight knit bunch. 2/?
