Quick side quest, detailed and weathered this SD Buster Gundam. Tried to do a majority of this without an airbrush to keep it quick. Looks good, but probably not my style

MG Rick Dom pilot figures painted. The molded details for this figure are not as good as other pilots I've painted.

you can sandwich a layer or two of saran wrap in-between the ball and socket to increase the friction for the wrist joint
u should pick up a bulk pack of model clips (alligator clips on a stick) and a catch scratcher to stick em into. can't imagine how long it took you to tack all those pieces to sticks haha
tiny painting project for later
good choice
Spent several hours on the bazooka today. plastic cement, putty, sanding, then painting. Went a little overboard with the dry brushing but it turned out alright.

my friend got me this ensemble Victory 2 Gundam
you can sell graded cards at a much higher price (sometimes 5x the price) if it comes back with a high rating
respectable backlog
I don't think the main purpose for the minis is to proxy the tokens. I saw the demo for assemble at BCF and the minis used for the tabletop are identical to the ones in the card boxes, minus the base. Each player uses 3 minis, so if you bought an assemble set you have a full team ready for the game
It's plenty of fun. Your backlog will start growing much faster when your builds take 10x the time though.
Incremental progress. Did some test colors and then painted the upper torso frame. Gonna go limb by limb painting the frame and reassembling.

been too busy to build our paint lately but I have some recent incomplete models to share. MG Rick Dom with custom LED mono-eye and bottom half of HGGQX Red Gundam

won a Gundam TCG store tournament for the first time 🥳 got good pulls too
for bandai kits you can skip washing (unless it's covered in too much sanding dust) so long as ur using a primer. I stopped washing and my paint can resist light scratches
turned out great!

This was my first time with a kit of this difficulty. It taught me to be more comfortable with making and fixing mistakes. I had to repaint a couple of sections
Hovertruck from 08th MS Team (1/144 scale)
First time making and using a filter paint to get the colors right. Nice little 1-day project

A good kit if you enjoy seam line removal and masking

tried out ProAcryl glaze&wash medium. added some more orange and brown, then dry brushed ivory
my first gunpla was a MG. you will have fun. put some long YouTube videos in the background and clip away
if these minis weren't so damn hard to get I'd probably be more inclined to try different styles. even the Artifact line rarely gets stocked
really conflicted on whether I like my own mini painting style. I like that the airbrush keeps the finish super smooth and consistent, but I feel like it's not as visually interesting as manually highlighting with a brush.
finished guncannon mini
had a ton of trouble getting the terrain color how I wanted it. too pink, not brown enough. probably would've looked better with more orange though. maybe I'll repaint another day

guncannon up next. gonna play around with some new dry brushes after the base coats harden

I've mostly been using Tamiya solvent based acrylics and lacquers. They aren't good for layering with brush because the thinners eat through previous layers. For airbrushing, they go on super smooth and dry as fast as I can spray, so no dry time between layers and also no cure time to worry about

Bought some ProAcryl paints to try out. First time using actual water acrylics. Still did the base colors with lacquer thru and airbrush tho
